Hey Everybody, First off, BIG Thanks are in order for DM Scotty. (this is my first post, so bear with me) I've always been a pretty crafty person, but DM Scotty showed me how to apply my skills to d&d in a completely new way... so Thank You to him! His videos and techniques are amazing sources of inspiration and knowledge. Please excuse my crappy iphone photos. Thanks to his videos and lots of creative anxiety, I've managed to construct a simple crypt/sarcophagus thing: I made the coffin out of cardboard. In the end, I flipped it over. (My original plan included a removable lid) This image shows a plaque at the foot of the coffin... As per my wife's suggestion, I opted not to include that feature. The scalloped embellishments are simply the tips of popsickle sticks. The "baseboards" are also popsickle sticks. Here it is with a solid base coat of dark gray. The spheres are straight pins (shafts cut down with wire cutters to about 1/4") with plastic balls on the end, hammered into the wood. The sword is a Lego sword... which can be easily sharpened with a few passes on sandpaper. I also cut a few nicks in the blade with a boxcutter, which will show up when drybrushed. Here's the final piece, ready for gaming: Thanks again for DM Scotty's videos, and everything he does to inspire the rest of us! ...and again, sorry for the craptastic iphone photos.

Cool, I really like it because I tried soemthing similiar last weekend and wasnt satisfied with my sarcophagus. The middle piece is a block of wood? The lowest tile is a piece fo wood of the same size, covered by popsickle pieces? The sowrd is a really cool detail. The idea to use a Lego sword is really cool. I have to try to aks my children for allowance. :-)
You have covered the coffin in Toiletpaper+withe glue, or?

That's really cool! Isn't Lego more expensive than GW though?

Nice piece. Looks like some metal grave castings I purchased years ago -- only yours is actually nicer, more detailed. Well done! Cheers!

Thanks sadric - and the answer to all your questions is yes - and the lumpy surface around the coffin is hot glue. That's really cool! Isn't Lego more expensive than GW though? If you bought them just for stuff like this, yes probably... but I have a bunch from my childhood and money's tight so I have to scavenge. Thanks for all the nice comments! I'm cooking up something major that I'll post in a day or three.

Here are a couple more photos.. One for scale: And a top view: (I really recommend sanding Lego swords to a point... makes them much less cartoony.) Cheers!
