Greetings,
The insulation in the photo sure looks like straw to me.

It's quite a lot of liquid, so I expect the drying to take several days. That why you built that craft oven that is sitting in the corner collecting dust. Throw it in there, it will take hours to dry, not days.

So in the middle of all that construction, you are continuing to experiment with crafting materials and make really cool stuff. You are amazing. Maybe a little crazy, but amazing.

The drying box is doing it's thing. Let's see how long it takes... So in the middle of all that construction, you are continuing to experiment with crafting materials and make really cool stuff. You are amazing. Maybe a little crazy, but amazing. I take that as a compliment. And you're not the first one pointing out that 'crazy' aspect... But seriously: I don't have much time for crafting at the moment, as the evenings are spent with organizing, planning, researching and so on. When I craft, it's usually trying to finish some of the procrastinated WIP projects; I rarely start something new (short of projects involving mushrooms or tentacles *g*). What time is left is usually spent on youtube, looking for DIY tutorials for different stuff that might come in handy for the new house. Mostly carpentry and woodworking (we call it ' craft porn')... I've learned some great tricks and even my wife who really isn't a crafter started to take real interest (and even started to keep food packaging because she wanted to craft stuff out of it!!!). There are tons of great channels out there, and I almost feel like I have been missed a trend (a bit similar to the feeling I had when I discovered terrain crafting, even though that isn't really a mainstream hobby). Just stumbled over a pretty darn cool scene from Monte Cook's The Strange RPG that I'd like to recreate. Not neccessarily as a submerged building, but ...why not?

Thats a very cool idea, very inspiring. Im now thinking of making a bio shock themed underwater mansion so many neat things you could do underwater

I haven't done so many underwater adventures, but I might have quite a lot in the future (abolethic city, anyone?). Lots of question marks for me, even after reading several game books on that topic. Guess I have to do a few Combat Room sessions to test all that theory...

Maybe this one is old news for all who have their own (woodworking) workshop, but it was a eureka moment for me:
Turn Your Drill Press Into A Lathe

Got some large funnel-shaped wooden shavings from milling the holes for power sockets and switches into the walls. ...and I don't want to throw them all into the oven. So far, my only idea is to glue them on a centerpiece (perhaps a weirdly flowing shape made from foam) and call it an air elemental, or an air-related spellmarker. Any other ideas?

Those cones look kinda like mushroom caps.
Maybe grind them up for flocking?
Debris piles?
Will think about it. Something else might pop in my brain.

Trying to wrap my head around that one As for those wood shavings, they could be the leaves of odd plants, just add the stalks to the small end of them. You could also use them as bases for an ornate throne or bridge or even a coffin or dais. They could also be parts of a statue, like a figure holding a horn of plenty with water coming out of it (oh, have a statue holding this but the wood shaving is actually a magic item that can detach from the statue). Hmm, a wood giant's megaphone?

And I now have an image in my brain of a giant wooden Cait Sith sitting atop the shoulders of a Stone Moogle.

I had a scrap piece of pink foam around that added to the clutter of my craft table, so I had to do something with it. I chopped it up in little slices and broke out my trusty texture rod... ...five minutes later I had a bunch of floor tiles: and another ten minutes later, a corridor and a small room for the Dungeon of the Dread Barbie.
If I would ever do modular tiles with these, I wouldn't use tiles that small. I would go for 10x10 cm tiles, or something like these dimensions. The maximum would be the texture rod's length, which is 11.5 cm.

How about building your own dremel tool? I already have one (which I don't use it very often), but for a brief moment I was tempted to build one just to see if I can.

Its fall again, and that means lots of cool materials to find outdoors. You might have seen walnuts on my craft dest in some of the previous pics. They have a great wrinkled texture and already come skull-shaped. Making monster heads out of them should be a cakewalk. Also, they make great giant brains. Illithid elder brain, anyone? Here's some more stuff: This is stuff from a beech tree. It looks vaguely humanoid, in a disturbing way. I hotglued them carefully to some scrap metal. The challenge is, as with many leaves, how to get them from brittle to sturdy-enough-to-game-with... Thorny leaves, but I'm not sure what the name of the plant is (I'll edit the post later when I found out). The same challenge as above, but here I already have a solution: Hotglue on the underside, with some old scrap metal added for use with magnetic fly stands. The upper side will be coated in PVA and then painted. They will make awesome flying critters! In the news: Lady Forscale was seen in the company of strange creatures recently. So far, no explanation has been offered who or what these gentlebeings are... And these thingies? Nope, they're not really autumn-specific... When you buy a tube of acrylic or other stuff that comes in the same tubes, you'll have to cut away the top. Don't throw them away - the underside has a cool tripartite design!

I just had an inspiration I have to write down before I forget it... Another thing to be added to the evergrowing to-do list: Make a dice tower out of pringles cans, bur not a regular tower but one that has a tilt like deafnala's awesome houses.
