I keep seeing excellent ways of making trees by everyone here and while I've always wanted to make some trees for my campaigns, it always seemed like a waste to spend that much effort as you need to make a fair amount of trees for it to be worth your time. Then the question after that is storage. Trees are big and bulky and I got to thinking, "How can we have trees when we need them without having to sacrifice the feel of trees while fixing storage issues?" The origami christmas tree seemed like a good idea to me so I tried it out. Now, mind that I've NEVER made origami in my life so I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but I made two in just a few minutes. One is regular paper and the other is green construction paper. They look pretty damn good, the cost to make them is very low, they take next to no time at all to make, and storage is easy since they fold up. Another nice thing is that they stand up on their own and if they ever get damaged, you can quickly and easily make new ones. I'm going to make a bunch and just stick them in a ziploc bag until I need them. I added some minis for scale. Attachment Deleted

Heh, when you haul out the scissors, you've left "origami" behind and have entered the wild and unruly world of "kirigami." There are some really nice true origami Christmas tree (or other tree) patterns out there, but they are more complex than hacking away at a sheet of folded paper. I did a "tree" one day by taking a small piece of paper, crumpling it into a roughly spherical wad and sticking a coffee stirrer through it. It actually came out reasonably well.

Although now that I'm thinking about it more I like that idea. I suppose there are other things we can make that way to
