During the holidays, I found this cheap (and somewhat broken) decoration at the thrift store. $3, I think. It has some nice detail on the dome -- So, I began by removing the figures under the dome. The piece is made of thin resin, so the floor broke. I patched it with glued down index cards and flexible modeling paste. I decided that I wanted to leave the "internal" space empty (so I could put various stuff under there.) I also decided that I wanted a "golden figure" atop the dome. I used an old mini of a female wizard. I epoxied her to a penny and then I epoxied a bent paperclip to the bottom of the penny. This gave her a "pin" to rotate upon. I then mounted a bead under the penny using epoxy putty. I also epoxied a different bead to the top of the dome. The statue spins on it's pin and is removable. Here are some finished pics --

0_0 You BROKE BABY JESUS!!!! This is what HAPPENS WHEN KIDS PLAY D&D! 0_0
But seriously, brilliant job! This thing looks great and could probably be used for several purposes. What is the statue on top? Kinda looks like a really detailed lamp shade top-thingy...? Makes me want to remember to think more creatively when I go to the thrift store.

The two shapes under the statue are two beads. Top to bottom it's mini, penny, triangular bead, round bead.

Here's a pic of the top of the Gazebo/Shrine/Dome... I did use a little epoxy putty to "shape" the bottom of the penny...
