When I was at Goodwill, on two different occasions, at two different Goodwill's, I discovered these strange green "blobs." I now believe that they are "handles" for some kind of toy with a "ripcord" and maybe a flying disk. Anyway, all I found were the handles. They had cool "elven carvings" on them, so I knew that they could be of use. (Maybe they are from the movie 'Epic'?) (I also had a couple wooden blocks...) I hot glued the "handles" to the blocks. I also glued some small cardboard triangles to the wooden blocks to "fancy up" the bases a bit. I made the triangles go one way on one base and a mirror image pattern on the other. This is important later. There were seams on each side, so I put some "vines" of hot glue on the sides to cover that up. Here's the painted result. You can see how the two pillars have complimentary patterns on them and the bases are complimentary as well. I plan to use these as a "gate" when I use my cavern hexes for the first time.

Great find, and well executed.
I am pretty sure that is from "Epic" too.

Could not be more perfectly suited for the job.. fey-tastic find! Also, nice dry brushing, certainly does the trick, makes those details pop.

Made me think of The Hobbit -- Part Deux. There are pillars(?) at the entrance to the Elven woods, where they meet up with Leg-O-Lamb, er, Legolas. Beautiful work. Nicely done. Cheers!

I thought of the same thing! Just couldn't get myself to scribble the Eye of Sauron on one... Maybe if I find more of these...

Great find and paint job! Those look like expensive, purchased pieces on the tiles.
