Well I was hunting around some old stuff I had and I came across some old Mardi Gras beads I had from a trip.
Used the beads for things like potion bottles, I used some of the heads/faces to cast parts, and you can get them stupid cheap.
Might want to check that out for some ideas. Ill post up once I have everything dry and out of molds.

So as Fortuna would have it I live in New Orleans. Alcohol and the largest multi-day party around has a way of lowering everyone's inhibitions (though most locals that enjoy Mardi Gras don't get involved in the showing of boobs and such. That's usually a tourist thing.) If you've never been to Mardi Gras and have a chance to go, it's a lot of fun. But back to the topic at hand. As it happens, I just recently I started a crafting project using some beads I found just walking down the street a few weeks ago. (After Mardi Gras they are *all over* the place and you see them all year long hanging from fences, trees, power lines, balconies, etc.) These are from a parade called Thoth which passes by my house. I cut up the medallion to make the main focus of a "razed temple" setting. I cut up the medallion and mounted it on a semi-circle of cardboard: The rest of the bead has other elements that I'm planning to use in the desecrated alter, column dressing, etc. As I've gotten more and more into crafting I am looking forward to Mardi Gras even more this year. The crafting swag will rain down! Cheers, MM

LOL NICE ! We hit a bead shop outside N.O. when we were down there, it was like a wholesaler, the variety was pretty fun. I am sure there are some place online that sell as well. Didn't think about the beads until I wanted to cast a Sun Alter with a face in it and I remembered I still had some hanging on a hat rack. NO was a ton of fun, 4 stone cold sober guys getting lost as crap, cant find the hotel we parked the car at, didnt get to OUR hotel until 6am for a 730am wake up for work..... woof -R
