So back around 1995, I bought a bunch of Grenadier's plastic, injection molded, Dwarves: X-bowmen, Great Axemen, and Spearmen. Later on, I purchased some Ral Partha Dwarven Ram Cavalry. Many years later, around 2005, I bought a set of Old Glory Female Dwarven Warriors, and Dwarven Boar Riders… They have all, finally, emerged from the painting queue, ready for the tabletop! It's a very good thing Dwarves live for four centuries -- they have patience bred into them!

The army is 74 figures strong. These are my Mountain Dwarf Army. I recently (2019) purchased a couple of boxes of Caesar 1/72 Dwarves, which are smaller -- these will be my Hill Dwarves Army, when they are finished. I have already begun painting these bad boys, so they will not languish for nearly three decades, like their Mountain cousins.
I recently purchased a Mage Knight Chariot, with a Dwarf figure as a Driver, standing on the pulling beast's harness. I will glue two Hill Dwarves in the carriage portion, once they are painted. They, like Gimli, required a box, to see over the front rail of the chariot! More on this, later, in a separate topic…
I am an army painter. I paint to the GEtGW standard: if they look good at arm's length, that is all that matters, to me. I went through a couple of ideas on the basing: some have 'grass', while others have rocks. I waffled between basing for outdoors campaigns (grassy basing), versus underground campaigns (rocky basing). Not sure I will change them…
I changed the base sizes, mid-basing on the Ram Cavalry. I will likely trim the larger bases down to match the smaller ones. For my 2e BattleSystem games, basing sizes are very important. What can I say, but that I had a schizophrenic moment. LOL!
I am trying to follow Gary Gygax's 1977 1e AD&D Monster Manual descriptions and sizes, but I just could not limit myself to grey, white, brown, and black hair, for Dwarves. I thought the red hair on a Dwarf would look good. In my opinion, it does. I likely made too many redheads in the Army, but I really like that hair color for Dwarves. Thank goodness it is all fantasy! Cheers!
