Long-tome no posts, javenspell . Welcome back! I assure you, the rumors of the death of this forum were very premature. I agree, it is very "twiggy". Still, a nice build. It might work as both an Earth Elemental, or as a Treant. Back in 1e/2e rules, Elementals ranged in size/power: 8 HD/16 HD/24 HD. I've made a Fire Elemental using one of DM Schotty's older methods for making fires. I made it to be a 24 HD creature, at around 110mm, or 4-1/3", tall. I like it, a lot! It really screams 24-"Heaven save us!"-HD Elemental! The one time I used it in play, a Cleric PC cast Mental Domination (2e Tome of Magic spell), and I rolled a Natural 1 for its Saving Throw... The PC's were after an artifact it was guarding on the Elemental Plane of Fire, and I had planned for them to fight it. Instead, he asked/commanded it to pick the relic off the wall, and just hand it to him. Then they turned around and went back home, with minimal conflicts along the way. The adventure short-circuited, basically, but they still talk about it, and how much fun it was to see me deflated, as they never had to fight the creature. They still laugh, almost hysterically, about it. As a DM, I count that as one of my greatest successes: my players still talk about it, with absolute glee, they still laugh out loud, long and hard, about it. My job is to entertain them, and myself. I count that a memorable success. I hope your friend will get similar results from his behemoth Earth Elemental! I hope his players, too, will remember that encounter, and talk about it when they get a chance to do so. That will make it worth every effort he put into it. And he will smile, himself, at his own success. Cheers!

Hope my comment didn't come across as negative - perhaps I should have made it more detailed. I am totally fine with a twiggy earth elemental. More and better botanical NPCs!
