I Love Sci-Fi and I'm currently Planning to Build Hadley's Hope From the Movie Aliens, I'm Building this For Warhammer and an Aliens Themed RPG, With The Tips and Tricks I've Learned From DMScotty's Youtube Channel and the AWESOME Crafters on this Forum, The roofs of the complex will be removable like a fog of war revealing Either a Horde of Aliens, Tyranids, or other Creatures, or an Nest of Alien eggs, also will have some optional objectives like shutting down the Atmospheric Processer Before it Blows, or Setting it to blow as you escape to the extraction point, Rescue the Colonist from the Queens Chamber, Ect. I know Most D&D is Primarily Set as Fantasy but Thought if anyone Would Like To Take there Adventures Into the Great Unknown I Will Continue to Post Pictures of my progress as well as video from my youtube channel, also will be working on a Volcanic Planet Where The Volcanoes become a Threat as Each turn They could erupt at the role of a die.... More to come. Please leave any Comments or Suggestions and I'll Chat with You all Soon...

I'm looking forward to see some pics of your work. I do Sci-Fi and Space Fantasy Terrain by myself. In my Blog you can find some pics of my older work. I wait for a friend of mine with her camera to get some new pics.

I have all but the latest couple of books for it, plus the GM's screen, and one of these days, I am going to run a few more games of it. There is no doubt about it, the setting is all about inflicting maximum carnage against the worse the galaxy has to throw against you.. I am not a huge fan of the warhammer rules, but I just HAD to play that setting!

I Love Sci-Fi and I'm currently Planning to Build Hadley's Hope From the Movie Aliens, I'm Building this For Warhammer and an Aliens Themed RPG Have you ever heard of d20 modern? It has an add-on that's called d20 Future, which has all sorts of sic-fi rules in it. If you play D&D, it has the same d20 roots. I've DM'ed a game for about a year, a couple of years ago, and liked the system a lot. You should give it a look, if you get your hands on the books, it could help you by not having to create everything from scratch.

Sorry for the Thread-romancy. (I'm actually not that sorry.) Do you have any shots from this project up somewhere? I'd love to see them. I was running a Colonial Marines campaign a couple years ago, using Savage Worlds, and it went great. I've had a deep fascination with the Aliens story for years now, and am always looking for inspiration as well as resources.

I have not built it yet I had people vote for what they wanted to see next and underwater world won, so until I finish that my plans for LV426 are on the back burner for the moment but will begian as soon as I'm done with Underwater world. I have had some time to sketch out some Ideas and plans. it's going to be sweet!!!

I might be giving away my age here, but I've been tossing around an idea to work up a couple classic sci-fi adventures built on the backs of the likes of "Forbidden Planet" and "The Time Machine". What do ya think?

sounds pretty cool if your players will go for it. i have tons of ideas about sci fi style adventures but one of my players really dislikes sci-fi. i'm hoping his kid will become a huge fan of the new star wars movies and infect him but i do feel like the best adventures are the ones that are inspired by movies and books and games etc. that you are passionate about yourself.

While not as cheap as straight cardboard, there are some rather easy to make options for tiles.
Take a piece of cardboard the size of the tile you want, then you glue pastic canvas/granny grating to it, then you take cardstock, cut it out with a grid of squares that have a solid gap in all directions (Something akin to the plastic canvas look, but at a larger scale) and glue it ontop.
Then you can use vertical pieces of cardboard for the walls around the edges with the corrugation up top hidden by hot glue.
Give it a black base or priming coat, then drybrush metal. After that, shade the edges and use some dulled and extremely thinned down red for some rusty spots.
The end result is something that looks a lot like deck plating.
If you make some stairs and pillars, make some with out the cardboard layer, but another piece of cardstock done the same as the top piece (Matched up through the canvas) and you have a decent catwalk option.
