Nice work, can we get some info on that earth elemental that you're using for your avatar? Do the arms move?

Back in 1.5e, there was a Mud Para-Elemental Plane -- formed at the conjunction of the Water and Earth Elemental Planes. Perhaps he is a Mud Elemental? Very nice work on all of your Elementals. Can you post a how-to on them? Cheers! Hi, I don't think I can post an exhaustive how-to, but I've got some pictures to illustrate the steps. I start with a very simple metal wire backbone such as the one I used for the medium water elemental:
Then I use my main melee weapon: the holy hot glue gun! The only technique used is one seen on youtube (sorry, no reference) which consists in dipping the miniature in water to coldsnap the silicone shape, especially useful if you like the filaments (which everybody normally hates). And here was the finished product:
Starting with Baby water elemental, I've painted the metal wire to match the future colour theme: Same for Medium fire elemental; though I've had a change of heart regarding the filaments:
Finally, I used very watered down paint in order to keep some of the transparent effect, which I like quite a lot (though only for fire, water and air... transparent stone or tree didn't seem like a good idea).

Nice work, can we get some info on that earth elemental that you're using for your avatar? Do the arms move? Hi, Bob is made of metal wire backbone, on which several pieces of "synthetic cork" were patiently hot glued. What I call "synthetic cork" is basically the material used for wine bottles that replaces natural cork (that's my best description). You can actually see the bottle opener's scar on his left arm (right hand side on the picture). So to answer your question, although the wire armature allows some degrees of movement, and the flexible nature of the "synthetic cork", I am affraid Bob is NOT fully articulated. Cheerio

Wow! Very nice tutorials! I've thought about thermal-shocking the Hot Glue, to speed up setting time... Never made it past the "thought"-stage, though. Thanks for sharing, inspiring, and blazing a trail through the jungle of crafting for the rest of us! Cheers!
