Here's some 15mm Martians and a Victorian about to have a bad day... These are "Barsoom" style martians I guess. I may have made them a bit too red, like Tieflings. But I miss tieflings, so there I go. I actually got these guys for my sci-fi campaign but they are kinda fantasy too, and there's my jam, right there. That thing that's kinda halfway between fantasy and sci-fi. The "Sarlacc Pit" monster is something I got off of Reaper. These (below) are 28mm RAFM "Dream Warriors" which have gotten a *bit* scuffed up over the years. I got them when I was playing an illusionist in a D&D 3.5 game, so a while back. These were meant to be my "phantasms". I think you can still find these guys on Ebay- they come as a boxed set. This is my 15mm Sorcerer, 'Zibalba' who co-stars in my Dungeon Scum campaign. I think he has yet to really cast a useful spell but he's actually kind of a cool character. I'd apologize for the paint job but remember, he's tiny. You can't see my washy shadows too well at tabletop distance, only when I do extreme closeups like this. And here's Solomon Honorwood, who is also 15mm, and has been guest-starring in Dungeon Scum. I like his sculpt, and I assumed he's kinda based on Solomon Kane (thus I named him similar). Here's the whole gang.

If you want a better red skin tone for mars types, there's some easier ones that I've done that are rather simple.
Base with a 50/50 mix of Army Painter Red and Tanned Flesh (Both are from the old, discontinued Mantic Fantasy plastic fantasy starter set), there are new names for both now.
Then the P3 flesh wash done generally.
Then highlight with mixes of a thinned down terracotta craft paint (I thinned a bunch down for when I had a similar skin tone for characters a while back, used acrylic medium to do so) with first the same tanned flesh as before, then shifting that to a Bone (another Mantic released army painter set from the Undead one) for the highest highlights.
End result is less of a demonic red flesh and more of the right one for a skin tone for a human.

I need to find some of those dream warriors, those would be perfect for what I’ve got in mind.
