but also now I'm addicted to trying to find bigger and badder miniatures. What's next? Every member of this community should at one point in his or her life, create a GPW, a Great Purple Worm. DM Scotty iniatiated that sacred tradition years ago. You'll find the WIP postings of my GPW in the Tentacles post of my index. If after that your hunger for bigatures isn't sated yet, try to make a bigger (and uglier, of you dare) Version of Reaper's Mashaaf, The Great Old One. I did, and it took me months to complete it (with large breaks in between, but still).

Try having a picture and creating one yourself ! Paper mache, steel armatures, tin foil and glue, pretty much all i used ! wish i had bought gold paint instead of trying to make it myself... Here's the photo album as i was working and after it was finished. Gold Dragon it was supposed to be. www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155597854430144.1073741831.765850143&type=1&l=aea8caf0a7Fun suggestion... Buy a dremmel and smooth out the hot glue, it just sucks otherwise.

Impressive for a new sculptor (I doubt I could come close, in all aspects -- no talent, whatsoever, in sculpting), DnDPaladin . I like your wing-making technique. With regards to the GPW challenge made by tauster, I have been kicking around an idea on how to make one, old-school, in the style depicted in the 1e DMG illustrations, as well as the 1e MM. It will involve using an old, women's nylon stocking, filled with pillow batting, tied with strings around it, to form worm-body segments. It should be relatively easy, simple, and quick to build. My goal is to make the entire length of the worm body, complete with stinger tail (thinking it could be made out of Sculpey clay, quite easily). I hope to put a wire inside it, to allow it's body length to be formed, as needed. DM Scotty's version is gorgeous, but it is not true to the original monster design -- not a bad thing, just different than what I would like to see. Really need to begin working on this monster soon. Been too long in the dream/planning stage, need to bring it to reality. Problem is, I have sooo many other crafting projects already started, but not completed yet... Cheers!
