Hello there! I am Raven, 30 years old and I hail from Portugal.
I've been playing D&D for something like 15 years+ but mostly 2nd edition AD&D. We've tried 3rd ed and 3.5 but, for some reason, found ourselves constantly breaking the flow of the game with skill checking and whatnot so we got bored, took some rules from that edition we liked and went straight back to good old 2nd edition. When 4th edition came out I've tried 2 or 3 sessions but the whole thing felt like an MMORPG or some computer game and I didn't really saw it as Dungeons and Dragons. Maybe that's the archaic side of me that's just so used to 2nd edition..I don't know. Time went by and our gaming group dispersed and the new DM had a style that just wasnt for me so that ended up with me growing apart from not just D&D but RP as well.
Recently I've gain interest in Miniatures so I bought the D&D: Legend of Drizzt / Castle Ravenloft board games, a few old Cheap Warhammer packs on eBay and ordered a bunch of 3D prints for minis (turns out it a lot cheaper). From here, I started to also gain interest in board games since I get to paint those minis, use them on that game and also on possible D&D sessions.
I stumbled upon the DMG youtube channel and fell in love with his modular dungeons. Heard DM Scotty's name from his Youtube channel and decided to register on the Forum, in the hopes of contributing to the community and getting a few tips. I'm an absolute beginner on both painting and dungeon modeling but I'm sure these will be great for my upcomming 5th Edition sessions.
Cheers

WELCOME ABOARD! I hope your stay is a LONG & MERRY affair. I never much cared for WotC's spin on D&D myself. I'll stay an AD&Der to the end.
