Hello crafticians,
Has anyone considered using a hot foil pen on crafting/xps foam for making lines, such as grid markings?
This would be in lieu of using an xaxto knife or pen with firm pressure.
Thoughts?

A lot of people do this, though most use a heated wolfram string instead to minimize the with of the cut.
I've not done so my self but I am told that there are apparently some fumes to be ware of.
In short; should work - make sure to have windows open.

Styrofoam give off quite a lot of noxious fumes. A metal straight edge, a steady hand, and some way to control the depth help. I suck at the steady hand part.

It's a metal that handles heat well, the very same that is used in old light bulbs

If temperature is set properly, such as on a hot wire cutter, the stryofoam doesn't smoke, if it smokes temp is too high
