I'm working on painting some 60mm tall Viking toy figures as Frost Giants -- they match up perfectly to Gygax's 1977 Monster Manual size if a Human figure is 25mm tall. A number of the Frosties carry large round shields. I wanted to put a design on them, but I did not wish to paint the same emblem 15 times...
I searched for a warhammer font, and I found one with a stylized wolf's head. I printed it off in blue and green, then I cut them out, and I decopaged them in place. Seems like it will work well enough. Waiting for the Mod Podge to dry. Will take some photos tomorrow.
Not the best quality, but it looks as though it will meet the GEtGW standard (Good Enough to Game With, at arm's length). Cheers!

The only thing with using that method is that you really need to make certain the shield that you're mounting it on is smooth. If it isn't, you'll have problems in the long run

Here is the link/photo of the Mod Podge'd shield symbols: drive.google.com/file/d/0BzfvT2vBcPSaRTNFVnU2amw5NDQ/view?usp=sharingBear in mind, I am an army painter, I go for GEtGW ( Good Enough to Game With, at arm's length). They are nothing I would enter into a painting contest. I spend as little time painting, as possible. These figures are just primed with White Gesso, and they have a little bit of paint over their primer, but not much. I am painting 30 of these low quality, 60mm tall, Viking figures, for Frost Giants. My goal is to play out G2: The Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl, in full 3D, with around 50 Frost Giant figures, total, for the tabletop. I have fully modular ice caver wall sections, which I will place, end-to-end, to form the rooms, and hallways, in the Glacial Rift. The surface mats are the foam mats, from Harbor Freight, painted ceiling white, then sponge painted with three shades of blue. The cavern wall pieces are about 1/3 completed. The mats were recently 'painted' with silver glitter glue, over the white and blue paint. They turned out quite nice. Now I am painting the cavern wall sections with the glitter glue, as well. I need to finish the Giants, and the wall sections, and then I will be ready to playtest the game. I learned from play-testing the G1 module, that I really need to just use 1e AD&D rules, or it is nothing like the original game... Not a problem, really. I had hoped to use 2e BattleSystem Skirmish, to speed up combat, but it lost too much in the translation. Besides that, the players would need to learn a different set of rules, and that was just too much. After I finish the G2 build, I will push ahead on G3: Halls of the Fire Giant King. I will be making 2.5D dungeon wall sections, much like I did for G1, employing the same slotted foam mats, only this time they will be painted like gray dungeons. That is more than a year away from completion. I hope to finish the ice cavern wall sections by Spring of 2018, as well as the Giants' painting, by the same time. I was planning to play out G2 at Tundra Con, in January, but I fell behind in my crafting... Summer: it has a way of doing that to me. Cheers!

They came out nicely! I'll have to remember what you did if I need to do something similar! Thanks for sharing!

Looks good! 30 frost giants - you must have a lot of storage room!

Those look good. I did something in the past for Saga. I'd really like to see pics of your cavern mats and walls when you get a chance.

I recently upgraded the ice mats, applying silver glitter glue to them, painting it on with a 2" wide brush. Followed DM Scotty's advice using this technique. I love it! Applying the same glitter glue to my ice cavern wall sections. I've posted photo's of the mats, and wall sections, previously, but I have not posted any photo's with the glitter glue applied. Will have to take some photo's and post them soon... Also need to run a 2e BattleSystem Skirmish game with Frosties, and some pesky adventurers, ruining the Jarl's day!
I have a lot of figure storage. Need more, though. I will have around 50 Frosties, when done. I have around 20 Frosties painted already. Like I said, they are just GEtGW, not painting contest entries, period! I'll probably post a new thread after I run my BS Skirmish game. Too much fun not to... Cheers!
