So I bought several packs of LED candles from the dollar store, expecting the standard flickering yellow light. Alas, despite no indication upon the packaging, the LEDs cycle through red, blue, & green. Totally bunkd up the planned project for the time being but I've come to embrace happy accidents whilst crafting. I've decided to make 1 or 2 obelisks with glowing arcane runes but beyond that I'm having trouble conjuring further uses for these buggers.
This board is full of amazing, creative folk & I know a few of you must have the elixir for what ails me.

Do you have access to a 3D printer?

Black Magic Craft has a video on a nice portal using a LED that you describe.
I'm going to try a similar project in the future. But I was going to have mine standing, and guide the light around with a side emitting fiber optic. Havent even gotten to the drawing board with that one yet, but it's an idea atleast.

Yeah, was going to suggest magical portals, various magical items, like say a scrying device, either a crystal ball or a pool, a magic mirror. That's all I can think of right now.

Why not a fun campfire that was set by a sorcerer or wizard instead of someone just building it from scratch? Maybe they threw in some components for fun colors, or maybe something so it produces little to no smoke so it's more difficult for you to be spotted, or even a magical fire that puts off a chilly breeze instead of heat for campaigns in a desert Or volcano setting?
Put the components in tree hollow shapes, or hollow tree stumps, or up in silvery branches for a fairy forest effect.
Make some wide mouthed braziers and put them in a cathedral or holy building setting.
Stick them under a cauldron for magical, spooky-fire soup and potion making.
Make a magical bauble that a big baddie or even a big goodie is using that causes a spell effect in a certain radius as long as the light is on.
I hope that helps!

I've been considering nabbing some like that for my own use.
In a few wargames I've used crystals for markers, used them in various game sessions as well, but the main thing is wargaming use. Just got a bunch of the crystals from the floral display section of a hobby store and keep wanting to upgrade them to ones that light up in order to look more magicals.

A big thank you to everyone, definitely have some ideas now.
Life's been a little rough lately but I'll try to post what I end up making when I've got the time.

Do you have access to a 3D printer? I do not. Bummer. There are some cool 3D things that can integrate LEDs.
