Love that treasure!
I made a few treasurey thingies myself, you might take a peek or two when the dragon sleeps. Take care not to activate the hoard golems on page 4!

I remembered this from one of your last posts Tauster! they are so cool!
but also, dossen made something i liked that is use sand to simulate the gold ( i think if i remember correctly you used " glitter?" ) anyway, both of them are so truly a source to me to create one for my mordheim campaign!
thanks so much!

I have his 'sand as gold' trick on my to-do list. The idea is just too enticing not to try.

I've got a few bits and pieces that are destined to go on the piles - I just needed the sand sealed and basecoted in gold before detailing :-)

Just a quick update on the benches (note the plural) :-) I made three more, so each of the two HeroQuest tables could get a pair - the original one was measured out to fit alongside the tables. Here they are with a bit of company: And this little craft snuck in and demanded to be made also - a small lectern: Just a few small pieces of coffee stir stick (8 if my count is accurate) glued together and stuck on an old 20 mm base - texture is just some scraps of cereal box cardboard. The barbarian acting as scale model was converted to serve as my wifes PC in a campaign we both played in some years back - originally a Reaper Pathfinder mini that got a slight weapons upgrade ;-) And yes the PC was described as armed with an extremely large axe.

I made one a while ago too, craft sticks and toothpicks.
And a tome to go with it.

Really nice one! Wish I'd find some of those toothpicks with the little groves in...

I have a few of the textured ones, some are flat and look just like a sword without a crossguard. Keep an eye out!
Not mine;

I used the flat ones on the back of my book shelves. I alternated direction of the taper. Sorry do not have a rear pic handy.

Another one of those furniture crafts that just demanded to be made - I seem to get quite a few of those ;-) Made from bit of stir sticks: Two sticks glued together with small bits glued to each long one to make them look like thick beams with a cutout. And then a third long one glued on top of the small pieces on one side and two more small bits on the other stick from the same side. Resulting in a strong cross that (after sanding and distressing) looks like two large beams cut into one-another. Add some paint and jewelry-chain (inspired by a video by Wyloch): A small addition that will look fine in any torture chamber or dungeon.

A progress report on my treasure piles :-) First they got a wash to give them some definition: Then I picked out a few pieces to decorate with (more than I ended up using, but best be prepared): I added them along with small piles of coins: The coins were made using a method from tauster : I took a punch plier and punched tiny circles out of an old shampoo plastic bottle. The material is approx. 1 to 1.5 mm strong and makes great coins that get superglued on the tiles. We started basepainting some elements but ran out of coins, time and boyish motivation at that point, so here's where we stand: Thanks :-) Then just brush-on primer, sepia wash, gold drybrushing all over and some spot colors: A decent little hoard of treasure ;-)

That should be enough for a decent dragon hoard. But beware - I found that making treasure piles is even more addictive then tentacles and mushrooms!

Been a while since I updated this thread - but progress has been made! I finally got started on the last of the original Hero Quest furniture pieces: The two book cases. An then they got a bit of primer: It's mostly coffee stir sticks with bits of thin chip board from writing pads for the shelving.
