Thought it'd be fun to share our most used / favorite color $1 craft store paints.
I need to head to the hobby stores and buy some craft paints, and looking to expand my list.
Looking for was particularly useful for a variety of monster creatures, humanoids, villians etc.
And ones that are used often for mixing to get a variety of colors.
e.g. of ones I use all the time: pure black, burnt umber, espresso, flesh tone, snow white, grey, gunmetal, silver.
Looking for more variety in clothing. My blues and reds are kind of vibrant.
I suppose I need to practice mxing paitns more. I have quite a few paints as is.
Anyways, since I am headed to the store anyways, I figured I'd ask if there is any others I should get.

If you don't have a metallic copper, that can be useful. It's hard to mix that from other metallics. I like to have tan for lightening darker browns. Also a light gray for mixing to dull overly bright primaries, as well as a medium gray as the base for mixing shades of gray.

real fast like this... i'd say TAN is probably the most used colors int he list. simply because skin color is a must.
other then that... probably the basics as well... red, black, white, green blue and any mix of them all.

About to go to the craft store to get paints.
I was wondering if someone knew of a good mid color for green insect (in this case a spider), along with the a vibrant green highlight to complement it? I am very low on greens here at home.

I buy craft store (student acrylic) paints for the bulk terrain painting I do (for caves and outdoor features), so I use a lot of grey, white, black, burnt Umber, light and dark green, plus I have an assortment of more funky colours, such as a range of metallic paints (because friends sometimes ask for help with steam punk costumes and such) and things like bright purple or neon green for fungus clumps. The stuff is so cheap, why not get a wide selection?
