Hi! So I just started crafting cave tiles and such recently after watching some helpful tutorials from DM Scotty and AJ Pickett. Currently I am without a phone, but in due time when I gain one and finish enough of these tiles, I'll be sure to post them. I'm familiar with projects like this, just never dabbed into miniature landscapes and characters until now. I also love to draw creatures and the like, so expect the occasional doodle.
On a side note, I'm slowly learning how to DM and want to create and build new monsters to share with the community. If anyone has suggestions for me, feel free to leave a comment ^vvv^.

Welcome to the forum! I have never tried to develop a new monster, but I would be interested to see what you come up with.

Welcome to the forums as well. About the only advice I can give you concerning developing new monsters, consider how much enjoyment, (I know that sounds weird), the players will have from fighting and defeating the monster(s) you are developing. Main thing to always remember about gaming, the players are there to have fun, and I'm including you as the GM as well. That's the point of gaming and if everyone isn't having fun, why are you playing?
As a side note, everyone doesn't have to be having fun the entire time, but part of gaming is overcoming obstacles that the GM puts in place for his/her players.

That's part of why I want to make custom monsters, to help make a less predictable and interesting encounter for the players. Especially for those who might already be familiar with many creatures in the series. One idea I'm working on is basically a creature that effects vision for everyone with a fog it produces. Kind of a counter to darkvision and the like, but with a few differences. The creature for instance could be out in the day instead of in a tight dark cavern, and it's fog is made of silk that's thrown into the air in an almost powder-like consistency. Basically, it's a big silkworm. Got the idea from the carrion crawler, which is one of my favorite monsters. I liked the idea of a mid-sized worm creature that lived out along mountain paths and deep forests. Seeking to ambush prey that gets caught in the fog. It's got no eyes, so it relies on smell and vibrations to get around. The big weakness that the players have to figure out is that it hates fire and the silk it spreads is flammable. Of course, they can still kill it without this knowledge, it's just to give a little easier method.

Welcome aboard to our crazy corner of the internet. Would love to see some custom monsters. I usually take monsters from movies, books and other RPG games (or D&D which I play) and change their appearance and abilities a bit to make them "new monsters" for my players. It's fun to watch them squirm when they can't figure out what kind of monster it is and how to defeat them. Dm's guilty pleasure. I have never drawn them out (because I suck at drawing). Can't wait to see what you come up with.

First off i love the silk monster Second when i create i always like to start with a base most of the time pulled from something i have seen or if im feeling particularly creative ill just use the stats of a monster or trap and start from that. It is fantastic that you want to build your own monsters it makes the game so much more fun to me, and if like me most of the players have years in the game and know every monster from the name alone. Your Monster reminded me of Dust Devils from runescape if your still tinkering with it i would look at it and see if any of its attributes spark something. Old School Version of the dust devil i was actually thinking of basically the same Dust Devil
