So I got a request to modify my spiked anti-cavalry miniature defense and create a corner defense. I haven't posted any pictures of those creations yet so just in case anyone is interested. Works really well as an obstacle in wargaming.
My latest creation available for free. Looking for more ideas to expand my farm environment and field tiles. Lettuce/cabbage plants were individually created using free software. At some point I am going to have to spend some money for some easier software that will help me do these quicker, but for now I am just having fun.
Decided to add a variety of stone walls around the different possible lettuce and unplanted field types. Didn't realize how many combinations were necessary to allow someone to have a stone wall at each orientation. Also added walls that can just be placed. The stones were individually created to allow randomness on the stone walls. Used Meshmixers extrude and smoothing routines quite a bit. Also included a wall having caved in the middle and a wood gate with surrounding walls. Link to free files can be found here.
Yeah, I really debated what detail level to go with on the lettuce. I eventually went with a hobbit style less detailed. Hard to explain exactly the style, but it made the lettuce jump out a little without an infinite amount of work on the details of the lettuce.
So did a little work over the weekend to create a little mound home in the style of the Hobbit. These are available for free download from Thingiverse. Complete with a little hobbit and hay bail, not available for download. Interior has wood floors. Hobbit door is functional. Some minor assembly required.
Remember my only reward is a like and/or following me on Thingiverse.
Just another creation with my limited "free" time. This is a spiders lair with a small cave as its entrance and some eggs. I also created a body wrapped in a spider web cocoon. These can be found for free on Thingiverse. Think I am going to work on a spider coming out of a hole next. None of the existing spiders seem to meet my needs.
Experimented a little with stencils in meshmixer and decided to add to my farm layout as a result of that activity. Hope you enjoy my latest experimentation. These go with my farm tiles. Again free in thingiverse. Ones a pile of leaves raked up and the other are the leaves being burned. More a fall activity, but it seemed to fit what I wanted for new variety. I need to work on painting fire. It seems to have blended into the leaves a little too much.
Been a while since I posted some designs. I have quite a few projects started and not finished in my 3-D designs. Here are pictures and the link to my latest dungeon snake design with snake, rattles, scales and all. As usual I only post my free designs and here it is for free download. I am not the most proficient painter, but here are two pictures of my paint job so far.
erho: I will once again rise above Lurker status if I ever get back to painting, Real life work transitions... Adulting

sgtslag: Still unpacking after moving in October... Too much stuff, crafting materials are mostly still in boxes. Weekends are busy with life, so little progress made. Getting the urge to push through, though, soon. I have several projects waiting...

sgtslag: Started working on making hills, which match my Tee-Time carpet I use for my "grass mat," on my gaming table, for big battles. Got two long chunks of open-cell foam, from a friend. Used my Proxxon Hot Wire Cutter to make terrain hills out of them.

sgtslag: Came up with around 80 hills. Covering them with the same carpet, from scraps. They will match the tabletop, perfectly. Contact Cement, is my friend. Will post on it, when I get the pictures uploaded. Some prototypes done, as proof-of-concept...

sgtslag: 50 Hills completed, 24 left to cover the sides on. Hoping to finish this project within the week. Then I'll post a build description. For war gaming, but it can cross over to RPG sessions... They match the ground 'cloth', perfectly.

sgtslag: Sorry, randywest, the listed makers are the only ones I know.

sgtslag: Ran out of Hot Glue, with only five hills left to add a skirt to the sides of. Wal-Mart closes at 8:00 PM, thanks to COVID. GRRRrrr! Another 30 minutes of work, and I would have been done: ~77 hills, modular, perfectly matching my table's ground cloth!
