I told Curufin he ought to start a kickstarter. Using the stuff he's already done as examples, he should be able to get a lot of people!
Incredible work he's doing!

Wow curufin , amazing work. What type of glue are you using to assemble this stuff? The model glue I use for minis doesn't hold on PLA so I have been using E6000. Unfortunately it takes a long time to assemble using it because it takes so long to dry and harden. Hope you have a better solution. I use E6000 sometimes, but mostly I'm using superglue.

Thanks, everyone for the support! I really appreciate all the feedback.
I do have 'kickstarter' in the back of my brain (rapidly moving forward now that I know I need a new roof on my house). I wont really be able to use any models I have already created, as they are already freely available. So I will start a new "set" of models. I will need several to warrant this playset...with several stretch goals.
Why is there never enough time in the day?

But the stuff you've done so far, the free stuff, is great because it allows people to see the brilliant work you can do and also allows them to print them out and see if they like it -- test drive it. If you do a kickstarter, I do recommend you do at least one video on how to paint wood and metal -- much like the videos Stefan did for Dwarven Forge. That way they can make what they bought from you look as good, and then buy even more later too Your bar accessories.. the latest one.. is insanely good! So much detail and lovely paint jobs.. it really does look like a hand painting by a famous artist

If this is bad form curufin I will delete this post and move it elsewhere -- I thought it might be OK since I printed your models! Here are my bunk beds. I took the liberty of modifying curufin's vertical posts by adding some horizontal supports. I just don't have the fine motor skills and patience to make the solitary posts work. I went into Blender and added some thin "cubes" across two of the posts. I spaced them based upon the width of curfin's beds. I tend to print everything with a raft. You can see that the supports *don't actually touch* the build plate. My printer starts them off as a continuous string and just builds them up without supports. Here they are after I take them off the raft. You can see that they are indented in a bit -- that just tells me which side is up. Since the beds wont fall down and because they have "boards" on the edges, I can use binder clips to hold them together as the glue drys. Thank you curufin for the awesome 3D models! I still need to paint them (obviously!)

I'm using Loctite Go2Glue. It dries kinda slow, but it works well on PLA.

I would be happy to add it to the 'bed' file set, or better yet, why dont you add it as a 'remix'. That way you get to up your design list and fan support. You could probably also do that for the single bed posts. Rock on! Thanks for taking enough of an interest in the beds to take time to make them better.

Man, I need to try printing multiple things at once, it saves a bunch of time, but if something goes wrong with one...

Man, I need to try printing multiple things at once, it saves a bunch of time, but if something goes wrong with one... ...then you have spare parts! I like to print multiples of things that are small. I've discovered I have less problem with drooping/gooping if the extruder needs to move between parts; the plastic cools a bit.

Very true, i tend to print multiple parts because i usually only print while im at work or asleep and printing multiple parts means im getting more bang for my time, iim currently printing all of curufins bar shelves sans the wine bottles and mugs

Excellent as usual. curufin, I have about had it with inconsistent prints using Cura. Everything I am reading says dump it and go for Simplify 3D. I am going to pull the trigger on it today. I have been doing quite well with my Pinball mods but I am having some troubles with my next one. I have a model that is 2 parts that I wish to join as a single print and do some modifications to the model. What software do you recommend. Keep in mind I am starting from scratch so I need something with lots of tutorials and documentation out there.

Meph, Cura is probably the best free slicer out there, but Simplify3D blows it out of the water on every single function. It is worth every penny. There is also a 2 week trial you can do. You still have to pay for it, but they will issue a refund if you dont like it. Both MeshMixer and Blender will allow you to make modifications to stl files. Unfortunately, I didn't find either to be very intuitive, but both have lots of tutorials on youtube.

I am doing my first print right now with Simplify3D. I am printing one of my Terror Dogs which I have printed about 75 of them in the last month. I am watching the print and Simplify3D is using an entirely different process for laying out the print than Cura does. I like all the customization options also. I am doing a medium print. Can't wait to see how it turns out and compare.
Next up is modifying and creating STL files. So are you using Blender to create your tiles? I guess I have some tutorials to watch.
