I'll be interested to see if you get some remixed tudors.... That's why I uploaded the blender file as well. To make it easy on them if they wanted to use it. At least I was thoughtful enough about that. v1.1 of the tile is coming soon and it'll be even better Thanks for the complements. I agree with you jennifer 2x2 mush better decision, the fact the other tiles are set at 1/32" less than 2" bothers me more than im conformable with admitting

What's a good software tool to open up an STL, rescale it from 50.8mm to 50.0mm, and saving it as an STL file, without messing up the file?
I export as STL from Blender and it makes it an undersized object which you have to rescale anyways in MakerBot Desktop.
I don't know if MakerBot Desktop can save as an STL or if it would screw it up. I've never had a problem with this because I always check the scaling on everything before I export to x3g.
Blender doesn't uses inches or millimeters, but "units". And the units I used are 2 by 2 units by 7/16 units.
I'd like to add a rescaled STL file for openforge, but I want to make sure I am using the right tool for it.. I'm new to this all as of like a week ago.

I didn't mean to make a big deal about it. I wish they were all 2" tiles but they arent. I'm not going to limit myself by printing sizes that don't match with commercial tiles. While I don't plan to buy normal Dwarven Forge tiles, there are some specialty tiles I might just pickup. I would rather everything match.

Btw, your wood tile looks so good I'm going to wait on printing Tudor tiles until I see what you come up with.

Thank you Was wondering if you could scale it for 50.8mm x 50.8mm as well because it's scaled right now for somethign miniscule. 2x2 blender units whatever that is. Is Cura available for the Mac?

Btw, your wood tile looks so good I'm going to wait on printing Tudor tiles until I see what you come up with. That's probably all I am going to do because my walls are modular. I don't have to worry about making tiles with walls on them. I use low modular Hirst Arts walls, that aren't attached. The walls just sit on the table in between. But others might remix it and add the tudor walls or whatever.

Confused.. installed it .. it's asking for what printer I have but it isn't listed. I'll probably generate a funked up STL knowing me. grr.

I'll probably generate a funked up STL knowing me. grr. as far as i can tell all that setup is is telling Cura your build volume and limitations, so if you have a good handle on that and positioning you should be fine. I would do a test print though if you have doubts. I currently use Autodesk inventor to model, Cura to slice, and Octoprint to print

Very cool! Just as long as it isn't compatible with Dragonlock, because it's not a very impressive system -- problems.. warping I think too? Also it isn't 7/16" tall (it's shorter than all standards -- e.g. OF, DF etc..). Would be awesome if you developed a nice locking system that works with 7/16". I'd love to try it out. Build something much more awesome than Dragonlock

Hey Darkness, where did ya get that wood texture ? btw, I'd rotate every other plank 180 degrees so repetitive pattern isn't as apparent. What cad software did you use to generate that?

Yea i had not seen it around to much so i assumed Dragonlock wasn't exactly perfect will see if i cant get a decent build going so we can expand it Its a native Inventor texture "Driftwood", and i added a new plank to break it up looks decent now will have to see it printed. And the software is Autodesk Inventor

Btw, your wood tile looks so good I'm going to wait on printing Tudor tiles until I see what you come up with. Also, you could go with a hybrid look ? I mean make the Tavern tilescapes looking with a Front? You could use my tiles that way. Then just follow DM Scotty's vid on making medieval Tilescape windows for it, but elevated 1/4" higher to match the thicker tile. I think I am gonna go with the Tilescapes look and feel for my Tavern.

I am working on a "thin" version of the tavern tile, which is exactly the same but with a thinner base -- 1/4" thinner to be exact. I'm doing this so I can print nine of them to adhere to my 10 penny 6x6 inch chipboard/cardboard 1/4" base. I gotta have the Tilescapes 6x6 tile My printer can't print that big of a tile.

Quick update printed 2 test tiles last night, long way to go before i have a working tile.
Print one wood down - Found that i need to adjust my z height almost complete detail loss on grain due to elephant footing, though lock channel can out great
Print one wood up - Need to lower layer height and decrease speed to much loss on wood detail, also lock channel no where near as smooth due to bridging
Will redesign today and print tonight will also upload photos

So I saw this set of plinths this one guy used for statues on the Lead Adventure Frostgrave forum. .. and I decided I wanted to have them (or something similar) for my set of 6 Frostgrave statues. So I used both sketchup and blender to create the following. I stretched the plinth out a little taller because I wanted it that way -- but you can squash it down when printing if you like: Once I am done printing it, I'll share some photos then put it up on Thingiverse. (There aren't many cool looking plinths that I've seen on Thingiverse -- but maybe I haven't looked hard enough.)

jennifer can you point me in the direction of a good tutorial on how to work in blender -- with measurements on? All the tutorials I've stumbled on are mushy -- I want to be able to make something that has hard dimensions, like 2x2", etc. Many thanks in advance!
