Don't forget the Fat Dragon Dragonlock files as well. One must have a #D printer too and the mats, it seems it is now cheap and durable enough to meet the needs of the common people, thanks early adapters! But be gentle to Stephan of DF. He is a hard nerd who spent many years living poorly doing DF. Up until the first KS, he was still living on couches and DMing for cash (no lie). He did have NYC society adopted parents as a backup so he was not destitute by any means. The first KS really changed his fortunes around. Of course, things have changed and technology has advanced so they have to keep up as well. Yeah I didn't mention Dragonlock because I wasn't impressed either. I bought the Dungeon 1 set and only printed a few pieces. The OpenForge tiles were better quality and used less materials and time to print. A lot of the example Dragonlock prints I've seen have warped bases.. I think it's because they hollow it out or something. Also it's a thinner base.. I think it's 1/4" base to match hirst arts tiles and 1/2" walls to match the thickness of Hirst Arts walls. However I don't put actual hirst arts walls on tiles, but to the side of the walls on the table.

Hey Meph, I was wondering if you could tell me how you went about painting these chests of your's. They are so gorgeous! I just got my treasure kit in the mail and need to paint them.

Those gridded trays remind me of press molds.
Has anyone 3D printed a press mold for foam core tiles? Would a press mold from a 3D printer hold up?

They are openforge frames used to stack, in this case, Dwarven Forge tiles.

Hmm, don't really know what to tell ya. I have some bottles of Silver, Folk Art Pure Gold, Folk Art Brass, Folk Art Bronze, and a few different browns. Primed them black, brushed the wood brown and then used my metallics for the hardware. These were pretty quick and easy. I still have a bunch more to paint up and basing to do.

WHen you painted the trim did you use one metallic then let that dry and highlight with another?

No, its actually just black and brass. Maybe it's the lighting giving it that look. It looks nice but there isn't anything special I did with it.

Backed the Winterdale 2 IGG for full and stretch from both drives. I split it with some buddies so we lowered the cost a bit, hehe. Thats alot of terrain to much about with.

Black primer, then burnt umber over that on the wood. And I painted Folk Art Gunmetal over the metal parts. I guess I should dry brush some metallic silver over the gunmetal for highlights.

I backed it also for the full Castle level and the Winterdale 1 Stretch. I am going to see if any of my gaming group want to pitch in to defer the costs since they all benefit =)

It was too good a deal to pass up.

Btw, people are still adding to the total. Indiegogo allows people to keep buying into the campaign after the end date until the owner ends it. He just posted that he will keep it up a while so people can unlock the last stretch goals if they want. So it looks like we may get the last 2 also.

Been a while since I posted anything actually gaming related. I took the spring and summer off from gaming, but I am ready to get back on the horse. I won't get into what I am going to do because I will be starting a new gaming thread soon but I did spend the last few days printing some TrueTiles =) I gotta say I absolutely love this collection that curufin and Wyloch came up with. So far I have only been printing stuff from the base set. I went through about 1kg of PLA in the last couple days. It's harder to see what is here right now but I just primed my first batch today and I think I am going to sit and paint while I watch some football. I can't wait until I feel I have enough base tiles so I can get on to printing chasm and water tiles, as well as all the stretch goal pieces they came up with. I have about 750g of brown here and another 2kg of silver in the mail early this week. I am on a mission. As for my Openforge tiles, since I have a decent collection I am thinking about permanently fixing them to a base and making up a multi-story Inn/Tavern that I can reuse, maybe a couple other generic buildings. No point in wasting them but I want to stick with one set for my modular set and I really like the TrueTiles.
