Meph, btw I wrote Printable Scenery and said I liked their set a lot but that they need to add 2 more corners and 2 more straights. The existing corners and straights are .... like too blocky and not so natural for a cavern look. I asked them to make 2 of each (similar to what Dwarven Forge offers in their starter cavern set) and they wrote me back and said they would. And that they are also working on some 4 x 4. I also then asked for more stalagmites and an elevation block or two Anyways, if they don't do this soon, I am in blender. I'll take their existing 3D artwork and bend it around into some prettier curves.

When it first printed I gotta say I was a little put off at how thin it was, but honestly after printing a couple I don't care at all. They are plenty durable and no amount of dropping them would break them. They may be thin but they are strong. Of course if you stepped on one I am sure it would break, but so would the thicker openforge, or dwarven forge, or hirst arts...these are just as durable as any tiles out there, probably more so than the commercial products using hydrostone or resin. As for the thin base and matching them up to the dungeon tiles? Some of you might care but I don't. It's a transition between cut stone and natural caverns. If I really get concerned I might just get some thin foam as a base under the cavern tiles to raise them level with the others. If you ever did want to match up their height with your OpenForge, the 1/4" base (with or without recesses for pennies) I constructed in sketchup will work perfectly -- just tried it with the cavern corner tile.

Thanks for the offer but I really don't see any reason to print bases to raise them up. The transition doesn't bother me at all and if I did want it level for any reason, cardboard is free.

All I am saying it is just an option and that it actually happens to work with the base I made, miraculously. I know you're fine with how it is now and I even said it looks good that way. Just sayin'...
Anyways, I've been exchanging emails with Printable Scenery and helping them with the design of the new additions they will be adding. I told them to check out Wyloch's video. You can make very interesting natural looking caverns with curved diagonals and wavy straights.. both of which do not exist in the current Printable Scenery Cavern set. The diagonal/corner they give you is squared and the straight they give you is not wavy at all.. straight as an arrow -- very mechanical looking.
The Dwarven Forge starter set has only 3 unique pieces, and can make gorgeous caverns with them. A curved diagonal, wavy straight and a floor tile. 8 or 9 copies of each of the three unique pieces in that starter set.

I also started with some of the Tudor tiles. I think I am going to get enough of these wall tiles together to put together a tavern.

I printed one corner tile today to see how they looked together. They take a while to print. I experimented with the color scheme. Not sure if I will stick with this or not. These take a bit more time to paint than the other tiles. Good thing I don't need to make as many.

I kinda like all the different colors, but at the same time I could see it as a little distracting

Oh my, what is going on here? Actually, one of my players liked my printer so much that he went out and bought his own. He brought it over still boxed up a couple hours before out game this Sunday and asked me to show him the ropes. Got him setup and printed a couple tiles. Once the novelty wears off for him he is going to start pumping out tiles for me also. =)

Yeah I just dont like it. I am trying something new. i'll post it shortly when it dries. I like the idea of it.. greens and tans mixed in . I think it looks great:) maybe you could do a little bit less of a contrast between the paint colors if you find it distracting. but again i do like the greens and tans in it. did you watch stefan's tutorial on painting dwarven forge caverns on youtube?

And they will be shocked and in awe! Incredible print and nice paint job! Btw, I love the print rings in this case since they give a nice texture to the worm's shell Do ya have a download link for the figurine?
