I'm always looking for ways to speed up my crafting and ways to make it easier. I've been working on my B4 dungeon, and like many of the old school dungeons there are ton and tons of long hallways. I make my 2.5D walls out of dollar store foam core. I use a metal straight edge to run my craft knife along to make 3/8" strips. It takes a decent chuck of time to turn a new sheet of foam core into walls (and I hate doing it). So, to make life easier I built a wall slicer. It is just a piece of plywood that is the same thickness as my walls (3/8"). I glued on a thin piece of wood to one side, creating a little lip that will ride against the edge of the foam core. Using two screws, I secured a utility knife blade at an angle and protruding just beyond the thickness of the foam core. I then added a triangular piece of wood that covers the unused portion of the blade for safety. I just lay the foam core on a piece of scrap cardboard, line up the lip with the top edge of foam core and pull toward me. Just rinse and repeat. No more need to measure or worry about cutting strait...it does it all for me. I can turn a new sheet of foam core into walls in less than a minute.

Thanks for the details! I was looking at Wilmanric's "DIY Cardboard Cutting Table" on this forum, but your cutter would be easier for me to make and safer to store. Also, I really only need to cut wall strips.

Nice. I am at a crossroads now. To keep making foam/cardboard tiles or just begin printing openforge tiles. Whatever I decide, I think I will have to start making some cutting jigs for my other stuff. That just makes life so much simpler.

Love it
I am going to make a few of these, have you tried it on a larger sled like for tiles?

I clicked to see an interesting trap build and got exactly the crafting jig I've been trying to think up for a long time.
