hrm soo I oriented them perpendicular to each other: so maybe this is the problem. going to orient so they are paralell and reprint and see if they snap together. if this is the case, then you may only wnat to offer your snap together pieces as "plates" of pieces oriented paralell to take into consideration the accuracy of every individual's 3d printer. going to reprint now.

IF it snaps together fine, then I'll have to work out why printer isn't scaling evenly in all axis. Does your Architect 3D scale it perfectly in x and y ? It snapped right together for you after printing?

Ok .. the parallel print took care of the clearance, but now won't slide in the square holes. Obviously my printer is not of the same scale on X and Y. I am looking into this -- inquiring on google group for Wanhao to see what this might be. I'm sure I can get it resolved.
I can see why some people have problems with dragonlock clips and others don't.
To me tight tolerance friction fit of things doesn't seem practical due to the subtle variances / inaccuracies of all the various printers.

Had some issues with Blender...again.... but I think I now have got the hang of a few things. "Medieval Europe called, it wants it's wood grain texture back" Left side: First stab at at the Tilt End. Right side: same file, now with added wood grain detail. I think it is a good start. Going forward I would probably go twice as aggressive with the details.

It must be something with Cura and importing a couple STL files onto the same plate?
Because I just printed an 80mm x 80mm x 5mm plain box and measured it on the X and y: 80.02 and 80.03 .. so basically the same.
So it looks like no scaling issue with my printer .. i.e. hardware. must be a bug in cura with multiple STL files imported onto same plate.

Very nice curufin. Is it possible to take off the roof so you can play inside?

Very nice curufin. Is it possible to take off the roof so you can play inside? You could simply not glue the roof down so you could utilize the inside if you wanted to.

Wow you've come quite far in such a short time Curufin! A few months and you are making masterpieces!

Can you post a screenshot of the layout of all the pieces in Cura? I'd love to see how you've got it printing. "Flat" sounds revolutionary!

Nice idea. Much less risk of failing a big print this way. What do you use to glue the parts together?

Very nice. I started pumping out tiles again last week but quickly ran out of filament. I have 2 new rolls sitting here so it's time for some marathon printing. Can't wait for you to release your next sets, I will be done with the basic set in no time flat.

It's been a minute or two since my last post...but I am rarely completely idle. Sometime in the future I plan on sending my players to Dungeonland via the dungeons beneath Castle Greyhawk. Dungeonland is D&D's version of the Wonderland created by Lewis Carroll. In the adventure, the PC's will tango with the Queen's guards....so..... I designed and printed these playing card guards. The module called for the 2 thru 7 of hearts so that what I made. These guards print flat so I dunked them in near boiling water for a few seconds to soften the plastic so I could make them flow a little more like animated cards.
