Well, it's not plasticard per say, similar in many ways.
What you end up with isn't stiff the way the real thing is, though if you need to contour something that might be the way to go with it.
It also isn't something I'm that sure about how well it would hold up once cut to size, if the edges might be loose and start to peel. Also, the bag plastic isn't something that takes paint that well in the first place...I'd tried to use some of it as part of a few projects from time to time, paint peels off quite easily and primers tend to damage it to the point where a smooth end result is a pain in the rear to get and impossible to get.
You also probably ought to be wearing a mask when heating it up because it tends to be, well, toxic and nasty to deal with...probably also carcinogenic.
Plasticard is the same sort of thing as credit cards and similar are made of...

Thats what I love about this community: Thinking outside the box - or bag - and coming up with new ways to do things, and new things to do.

about the paint adesion, you have to tell yourself that by heating the plastic you actually change its molecular composition. the same way you would change a solid to liquid. here you turn back the bag from semi solid (very very very easy to manipulate) to a much more solid (next to real plastic).
basically that bag is turning into your margarine contenant. im no expert but it is clear you dont end up with the same stuff. you actually changed its composition.
thanks for the video, i didn't really know that was possible. thanks have tons of them home. but another question begs to be asked... what do you do with these things ? exemples of what can be done would be nice.

Excellent execution. As spot on as you can get in my opinion. Hopefully we aren't mining when these guys show up or carrying a powder stone v.v

thanks for the shows and all. literally ! so basically you are using the stuff as you'd use cardboard. ok i thought you had soemthing in ind. like someone says plasticard are better at making carpet stuff. so i thought you were talking about somehting of the sort. but yeah as regular material this can really save and repurpose the bags. definitely something to try.
thanks for all the info !
