Over the past weekend, my son, nephew and I were able to introduce one of my sons friends to the wonderful world of RPG's. My son played an elven ranger, my nephew played a human rogue, my sons friend played a human paladin, and I DM'd and played a human wizard. Their quest was to raid the caves of an ogre and his orc henchmen to try and rescue captured villagers. We played the game over a two night period. My nephew was not there the first night so we introduced his character the second night by having them rescue him from some ettercaps and deathjump spiders... Above and below shows the scene as the paladin just finishes lighting some of the webs on fire (the dice are indicate the number of HP the webs have left).... ( forgot to add that the spider in the water had been knocked in by an arrow from the ranger. The water was fast moving and the spider was swept over some falls down into the bowels of the earth....) In the pics below we see part of the final showdown with the ogre....

Great work! Love those pillars, really good dungeon terrain and mix of different things, 2D tiles, 3D elements, props and game aids.

I think it's a blast playing with kids. I've had the pleasure of introducing the sons and daughters of 3 friends to the game (my daughter's only 5, so we do the "fairy" version of D&D as her bedtime story). No question it gets chaotic at times (especially when the best fighter in the party decides to wander off and try to eat raw ogre liver instead of defending the magic user ), but it really is great to see their imaginations get sparked by this stuff rather than a video game.
