YET ANOTHER Mushroom base is ready for some color. This one has an out-of-production G.W. Night Goblin Wizard lowering property values along with a couple of Bad Attitude Stalagmites:

Never being one to leave well enough alone, the Goblin Wizard got some mushrooms added to his staff & some nondescript little critter removed from his right leg:

SO yesterday I had a need to do up another Tree base. This is where it was when my bed started calling to me:




This morning I finished twisting the wire branches, AND did the teased hot glue treatment to the branches:








Finally I did the green stuff face & the air dry clay bark:










Tomorrow he will get a Workable Fixative spray to seal the clay. Then it is on to the details. What miniature or miniatures to appear on the base is yet to be decided...silly is guaranteed.

^{* I know, this sounds wrong somehow...}

Absolutely love how simple & quick this is and how cool those caps look, with their lamellae (lamellas? lamellies? whatever. The frilly stuff on the underside of tha caps I mean.). I ordered the silicone texture mat she's selling and got a sample of the translucent oven-bake clay she uses (this stuff is quite expensive, so I ordered only a small sample). The translucency of the mushrooms is another point that's selling this kind of design to me, as is how cool those alcohol inks look. ...which is another kind of supply I haven't used before, and where I got shocked about how expensive theythis sutff is. I found a collection of used ink bottles and hope they work well enough to be worth the money.

Long story short: I'm hooked, and can't wait to play around with this new kind of fungal fun!

I did this tree awhile ago for no particular reason. Having tracked down the Goblin Bandit Chief Comsquare sent me, I thought he might look good with the tree...he still might, but the tree seemed to have a face hidden & waiting to come out. SO it is now a more personable Tree...& possible Goblin Bandit Chief base:

There are other things in the works that may show up here or elsewhere...or not.
