Safari Ltd. has come out with yet another dragon figure, only this time it is an undead Dragon. They call it their Ghost Dragon, but we all know it as a Draco-Lich... Its dimensions are: 5.75" x 4.75" x 5.5". It retails for around $19 + S/H, but it comes fully painted, ready to add your PC's to its undead army of mindless, fearless, minions. Bwah-ha-HA! Here it is, in its undead glory: To purchase one, search e-Bay for the best deal ($18.99 + Free Shipping), or buy it off of Amazon. For its undead breath weapon, I am thinking it spews forth a Cloud of Undeath: save, or be killed and turned into a Zombie under the mind control of the Dragon. I could have a lot of fun with this critter in a BattleSystem game where it managed to breathe on entire units of enemies, turning them into Zombies under its control... So much fun, so few enemy units to convert! Cheers!

I love the detail and overall look of this guy! He would be a great addition to the table.
However... the position makes him look like he is dancing. All I can hear in my head is him humming along to some tune that only he can hear as he shimmies and shakes those forelimbs back and forth. And, naturally, now that my mind has pictured that image... I cannot unsee it.

That is pretty cool. The head looks similar to the D&D black dragon with less curved horns.
The left arm does look like its in a weird position though. Judging from the pics up on Amazon that arm is a separate piece from the main sculpt so you should be able to pop it off and reposition it. The wings look a little small too but since its undead and they are torn to shreds it works.
I was looking at other dragons in the same wave and another dragon the Flower dragon looks like its wings were put on the wrong sides so I wonder if these pieces were preproduction pieces that were assembled wrong in the catalog shots. I'm very curious to see how these look in the wild.
I really hope they rerelease this mold in their glow in the dark line or transparent plastic it would be a must have for me then as a Spectral or Ghost dragon. Right now its a cool zombie dragon/dracolich but I already have official D&D minis of those so will pass on it for now.

I've shared this before, but it is worth sharing again: if you like the dragon toy's shape, but you don't like the colors/scheme, you can re-paint them easily. Here is a link to my blog where I show you how I re-painted two different dragon toys: one became an AD&D Copper Dragon, and the other became an AD&D Brass/Bronze Dragon. Here is a photo of the finished Copper Dragon Conversion, as well as the finished Brass/Bronze Dragon Conversion: This is the original paint job... Blech!
This is my paint work to transform the sculpt into an AD&D Dragon. This dragon came from the store with a bright yellow gold paint job. I prefer him as a Brass/Bronze beast. Cheers!
