I have the time and a place set up with electrical sockets set up at a Convention here in NE Ohio.
I'm gathering some tiles (and Next) stuff up in various phases of construction. Do some live action fast fowarding as no one will want to watch spray paint dry.
I'm planning on making a one page FAQ sheet to hand out. It covers stuff like tools and paints needed. I'm also wanting to have some links to here and some of the YouTube channels from the crafters here.
Obviously going to have DM Scotty and The DMG channels links. Half forgetting a lot of other good crafters channels I have visited. If you know or run a channel give me a shout and I'll put you on the list.
We're a small close knit community so don't be shy....
Also want to put my thanks out there to people who have helped me along the way. Also thanks to the new folks showing up and helping the community grow.

Wyloch's stuff is top notch and he has ideas people new to crafting could conceptualize easily since his tiles are close to "traditional" D&D tiles.

Cons seem to be the next bastion for spreading the craft. Good on ya.

I'd add Mini Terrain Domain's (MTD) channel to the list. He makes very polished videos that are a credit to the community. And his ship video is inspiring. (It doesn't hurt that Jake is a nice guy.)

My phone is acting like it is possessed.
On the way to work wanted to post a thank you to you guys.
Over the weekend will be making the hand outs so I can print them out for the demo I'll be doing on the 16th.
Blogs and such are cool as well.
I think the hotel has wifi so be expecting up dates and such on that weekend.
My main selling point about the Craft is that it is cheap to make stuff. And secondly it lets you customize just everything to your own tastes and playing style.

Bens RPG Pile has been inactive for almost 2 years One place I went to for a campaign idea hasn't been updated in about ten years. Be nice for updates but being the pesky gamers we all are it seems we tweak everything we see anyway

i'd not start with wyloch right off the bat and would classify his stuff as expert crafters only. its not becasue his tiles arne'T good and all... but mostly that his tiles have very precise measurements. that alone may be just a tad too much for new crafters, but hes definitely worth mentionning for those who have a bit of knowledge with tiles already.

^ Good point. Scotty and DMG both start with "here's the tools you need," "here's how to work with cardboard," etc. And I skipped all that.
Coincidentally, at BrigadeCon this weekend, I'll be making that same point: Always, always, always Start with Scotty and DMG.

Would you add halloweenvile to the list Will do. Wish I had a few extra bucks. I have no idea will be showing up so far, but with a few extra bucks I'd end up getting some CDs and making a HTML start page for the disc with the links and DM Scotty's three vids that goes over the basics materials, paints, and supplies. I'm going to have electric (bringing laptop, monitor, and hot glue gun) at the table where I am going to be talking about the Craft.... If my butt can stay awake after work this week it might be worth trying to make a (whatever Libre Office calls it) Power Point slide show. Oh no, Power Point I can feel the MBAness chipping away at my common sense

90% of the reason I asked for people to list places to go to is that I knew I would forget a bunch of people.... My old fart brain is like that and with as many talented folks out there that there is I wanted people to give suggestions. halloweenville - one of the discount passes to Con on the Cob here in Ohio was to run three games and get a deal on a four day pass. Sort of had the three games planned out and occurred to me to ask if they had "regular folk" do demos, lectures and stuff like that. Asked DM Scotty if he would mind and away we went. Seems like a bunch of people were like me. Looking for gaming stuff like walls and tiles and all we came across was the mold & cast stuff. Fine and dandy if you have money to burn. After finding DMScotty and thedmg youtube stuff was hooked. Two great things that go great together, cheap and creative. Just a little modification and the same type of tile can be used for a space station, a dungeon, a modern office building, or a fantasy tavern. With a sales pitch like that who wouldn't want to at least stop by and sample the Craft? Win, lose, or draw I'm doing it to have fun. If I can spread the word and get some people to join our fun little cult so much the better. I do not have my info in front of me, think I have an hour. More than enough time to go over the basics of how to assemble a tile and some painting techniques (when I first started I had no idea what wash or dry brushing was). I was also thinking of a small Power Point presentation. If it's cool with DMScotty I may pull a few still frames from some of his vids and say that he also shows some stuff besides tiles, such as the Dino BBQ, the Orc tents and such. *Disclaimer* of course giving full credit. I may not follow every law but I follow Wheaton's Law (don't be a d***). So will cite my source because taking credit for someone else's work is not cool. This is my first year at the Haunted House (volunteer staff and the proceeds are donated to a few charities), and I think it's my g/f's 10th year, but we're skipping it for a weekend of gaming. Ironically we'll be in costume for two night. What's a Con in Oct without costume parties? Super late, make up from the Haunt washed off, g/f showering to get her make-up off..... If I'm running super ragged this week I should check in on my phone and if not expect to hear how things went in a week.

Just out of courtesy. Another thing I noticed is that we're all a bit like peer reviewed scientists here, we usually cite our source of inspiration and give credit where it is due.
