Tried a new Technique , (well new to me you guys prob have done already) it was really easy too, just cut strips of card , a little wavy not just straight, then cut them into smaller buts, then just glued them down as floor boards, did the walls on top , quick paint an BAM. the card i used had a great texture when dry brushed with the brown to so even easier. That is a slick technique, and the result looks great!
BTW, what the !$#@! is that book in the background? It looks familiar somehow...

"Good artists borrow, great artists steal." Since I'll be stealing this, it must mean I'm a great artist. . .

BTW, what the !$#@! is that book in the background? It looks familiar somehow... Well they say everyone has there favorite edition of D&D, my group still uses Ad&d books, the ones the great Gary Gygax wrote.

What kind of 'card' did you use that had texture?

Very nice texture but I am usually too lazy and just paint on the texture.

I really like this. I think I'm going to use this technique for my modular city set. I'd love to see more pictures if you do anything else with this.

What kind of 'card' did you use that had texture? the card backing on note pads is usually a recycled product and has good texture when drybrushed

Looks good. I've been trying to work out how I'm going to do western tiles for my up coming game and the method that I've settled on is to cut a piece of cardboard to the size I want, glue Popsicle sticks to the cardboard, then glue on the cardboard walls. I've got a prototype done that I'll snap a picture of and show everyone. Should look pretty good once I get it painted up, after all, most of the tables and things I've done with Popsicle sticks look good so far.

I tried this before, but my card was thinner. Thicker definitely does the trick. Thanks.

Great result. You could even use a fine pen to draw some wood grain if you wanted to. For my hardwood floor in my Keep I used wooden coffee stirrer sticks, then sealed with matte mod podge. A little more work, but also a nice result. In retrospect I should have cut some to random lengths to make it look less regimented, but you learn as you go in this world.
