I currently DM 2 games and have to travel to both of them. I have a couple of plastic totes (large ones) that contain my tiles but I am finding my foliage (trees) are getting damaged. I also have a large portfolio case, a tackle box for minis and other assorted items. I am looking for something that I can either fit everything in and not get tiles damaged - or something for my tiles and one other case for everything else. Any suggestions will be a big help!

Trees can be fragile. Do you have pictures of your trees there are lots of ways to make them. I might be able to think of something.
I had to travel to a lot of games too.

I have a 94 piece tile set that stacks neatly and would fit into a smallish box.(12"H, 15"D, 15"W that includes three large room tiles. Take those out and it would fit into a smaller box. Also you wouldn't be bringing all your tiles at once) Minis are in a large tackle box. (sort minis and place in ziplock bags before session. 3d items such as wagons, trees, shrubbery fit nicely into 'Magic' card boxes or shoe boxes. Stack it all neatly into one printer box (or something with handles and good to go. (We all started gaming back at my house so I don't have to travel with my junk anymore) Hope that helps. two or three shoe boxes on the bottom (or stacked on the side depending on box) with 3d stuff Tiles on top (or beside) Ziplocked minis either in the shoe boxes, placed on top of tiles, or down the corners of the box. books, binder laptop, tablet etc in back pack.
Another idea that my friend uses: throw everything into a medium sized hard shelled suitcase (books, binders etc go into a small suitcase that straps on top of the other suitcase) and rolls it to the LGS or friend's house. Seems to work for him. He stores everything like this as well.

well i have one big box that houses a lot of other smaller boxes. but seriously.. its a pain int he ass. i suggest what im doing... get a rollable portable tool box from canadian tire. you know those large chest like boxes with handles and wheels that building workers get their tools in. some of them have lots of spaces for minis and the likes. in your case tackle box is fine. so those cases could be for your smaller pieces like treasure chest and the likes. and your bigger pieces can neatly go into the big box at the bottom. i found myself a really neat one. www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-vertical-rolling-toolbox-0580677p.html#/en/pdp/mastercraft-vertical-rolling-toolbox-0580677p.html#.VeKD462sH9Uit has two compartment for small pieces at the top of the box. another case box on the front thats removable. if you open the top it has a small handle that allow you to put more into it, then you get tot he bottom of the first part. that whole case for me will be enough for all minis i have. second part of the box, again handle with storage for smaller pieces. then bottom box is big enough for all my bigger pieces. thats what i'd recommend. having worked with boxes a lot... i can tell they get screwed up. things have to be neatly cared for. and most often then not you are adding weight by adding lots of boxes that may not be needing to be there to begin with. i'd say buying a cheap rollable tool box is well worth it, if you move often. not to mention once the handle for rolling is up, nothing stops you from putting another box or your tackle box on top and use the toolbox as a cart.
