A bit late to the party, it seems:-) I started a Youtube Channel about 9 months ago, and now I want to show everybody my baby. I don't really do Facebook or any social media, other than this forum, so it has been slow with views and subscribers. But now I feel I have enough videos to show it off, and maybe peak the interest of someone who did not come across my channel.
The purpose of the channel is to show how to craft all kinds of stuff for the table, mostly fantasy related, and especially monsters, which are my favorite. All of the vids are tutorials, which show the steps to get to the finished craft.
It all started with me corresponding with Nelson from Infinite Roleplay, about him crafting an Iron Throne. He encouraged me to try it out, too. That was the kick in the butt I needed, so I started recording my craft, and uploaded it to Youtube, for Nelson to see. Off course, I kept on crafting, and even won a Miniature CraftWar shortly after. This fueled my desire to continue even more.
Basically Nelson got me pregnant and left me:-) So now I had to raise my baby alone:-) I might add that Nelson never promised me anything, so it's not like I'm mad at him or anything;-) In fact, I owe him, cause without him giving me the push, this channel probably would not have existed. Thanks, Nelson. You rock!!!
Before all this, I had allready seen all TheDMG's videos, and made a bunch of tiles, that I have used often. Such an great idea! Modular stuff is another favorite of mine. Thank you, Gareth, for all the inspiration you have shared and all the entertainment.
I also watched all of DM Scotty's videos, and when I saw the Purple Worm, I thought, maybe it's not that impossible after all. A monster crafting spree was kickstarted, and for that, Scotty, I want to thank you. You are the reason, I craft miniatures. Can't thank you enough, since this is my favorite thing to do now. I often have trouble sleeping, because I can't stop thinking about the next monster. It's an addiction, but I love it. Thank you.
So here is the first video, from the Nelson-affair...:-)
The Iron Throne
I then made a couple of weapon videos, related to the Throne
Dirt Cheap 28mm Weapons
Copper Swords 28mm
Then I got to the Miniatures. There was an End of the Year CraftWar going on, and I did not realize, that I posted my entry in the Terrain category, until I found the MiniWar category afterwards. Nelson also joined the CraftWar and MiniWar with his Mega Spider Finale/Dryder, which was so cool. I think we were both a little confused, being new to this:-)
But somehow I won the MiniWar, and my fate was sealed(with sealant, you'll get it when you've watched the video). I had to craft miniatures and I had to show others that it was easy and cheap. But you have to like crafting, cause it's not something you can do in minutes. It takes hours, sometimes days, especially if you have to make it into a video:-)
The CraftWar Warrior 2014
At the same time I crafted these, to have something extra in the CraftWar Warrior 2014-video.
CraftWar Warrior Younglings
Later I crafted this King of the Owlbears, after toying with the idea of using an old sock for the fur. It sounds creepy, I know it, but I did wash it first, if that helps:-)
Rise of the Owlbear King
Part Two
There was a Bridge CraftWar, and I thought that a bridge would be useable in the D&D game I played, so I crafted one along with a sacrificial scaffold and some cliffs.
Roper Bridge Teaser
Roper Bridge
After fooling around with terrain, I felt the urge to craft a miniature again, and that fitted well with the MiniWar that month. I've kind of been using the CraftWars to motivate myself since. It's easier to get things done when there's a deadline:-)
Advanced Flesh Golem - Part One
Part Two
Part Three
While crafting the whole Roper Bridge setup, I recorded how I did the modular cliffs. They actually feel like stone when you touch them, but they don't weigh that much, since the inside is white styrofoam(flamingo).
Big Rocky Rocks
Feeling the urge to craft again, I finally overcame my Crafter's Block, and entered a CraftWar again. I think the reason for my break was related to the fact, that our DM hadn't played a game with us in 6 months, due to him starting a new business. I felt that I was only crafting for the channel, and that was not enough at the time.
The CraftWar category was Shrines and I had an idea about a dragon cave featuring a shrine with a crystal ball on it, and a dragon curled around it, while staring into his mini-tv. At first, it was going to be a complete scenario with the sea, a beach, a giant red rock formation which had a very small opening, with a small stream of water flowing from the sea to the opening. This would be the way for the adventurers to enter the lair of a Copper Dragon, who had it's own underwater entrance right under the small stream. This Copper Dragon idea came from watching AJ's fantastic series on dragons. Love your enthusiasm and vast knowledge about monsters, AJ. And thanks for inspiring me and entertaining me at the same time. Dragons will be crafted!
Realizing I didn't really have the time needed for this project, or the space needed to store it, I changed up the idea. But this Craft will happen someday, I'm getting all jacked up again as I write about it;-)
The new shrine would be smaller, and I had some orignal ideas and methods(that's what I thought, at least, but all of it have probably been done before, right here on this forum), that I wanted to share instead, for the channel.
I wanted to do an altar type scenario, within a palace of priests who did Red Dragon worship/sacrifice. The room was meant to look new and cleaned daily as it was considered holy. So that's why I laminated all the tiles. The Red Dragon monument featured a real Red Dragon head, dead of course, but kept in pristine condition with oils and such.
At the alter was a real Red Dragon heart, pumping real dragon blood, which the altar was full of, out into a small pit, the High Priest was standing in. This would grant him extra powers.

Part Two
I started watching alot of Warhammer 40K videos and figure I would try to craft a small Titan, as cheap as possible. The CraftWar this month was Mass Destruction. The Titan feaured light from a LED shoelace, but the battery died on me before completion, so the light was not visible in the finished craft. I was working to close to the deadline and had to cut alot of corners, and this wouldn't be the last time that happened...
Titan Juggernaut mk I
Soon after, I was locked in a fight with my old enemy, Crafter's Block. I managed to craft one monster, while under attack, but he never made it to the channel. The battle raged on for three months, until I finally won. This was what I came "up" with...
Terrex from the Deep - Part One
Now, I know this is cheating, cause it took me 2 months to edit the second part of the video. I wanted to do some playing around, and create a scene, where my playergroup encountered the Terrex. But the Terrex and my crafting gear had to be packed away for some time(meaning that the kitchen was about to be used for it's original purpose).
Anyways, I recently unpacked my crafting gear and got it done...
Terrex from the Deep - Part Two
Right after I crafted the Terrex, it dawned on me...No matter how many monsters I crafted, it would not bring my DM back. New monsters means new encounters. New encounters means more work. More work means less DM. What I needed was something my DM could use instantly, without prepping. Something he would want for himself, but at the same time something that favored the players. I really like the terrain to be 3d, but the setups always paled in comparison with how I imagined them. And it was the missing background/backdrop that was the problem for me.
I decided to combine a DM Screen with the backdrops I had in mind. The idea is that I will paint backdrops of all the places we will visit in our game. A bonus to this screen is when I do the other crafting videos, I now have a background instead of the wall.
The PanoDrama DM Screen
The PanoDrama - Opposing sides
The PanoDrama - The Northern Peaks
Sadly, none of this have brought the DM back yet, but he's intrigued...
So instead of crying myself to sleep once again, I played alot of boardgames, just like I had done In the past. And Imperial Assault has been the playergroups game for some months now. This influence made me craft this guy, to scare the evil empire...
Wookiee Beastrider Teaser

Wookiee Beastrider - Part Two
Still playing Imperial Assault. Still not seeing no DM. Still crafting...
I had been thinking about a fruitbearing plant for the August CraftWar. I wanted to do a tree, but the whole leaf-thing threw me off. And to bear a fruit, I thought there had to be some sign of vegetation on the branches. Until I thought of an Ice Tree. Now, I love the viking-era and was planning on doing some crafting based around Norse mythology. Which could use an Ice Tree as a background for the photoshoots...what more was there to think about?
Except, for the music...I thought about not posting the last number in the video for almost a minute, before I decided;-)
The Ice Tree
That's all I have for now...
A Troll is on it's way!
A Wampa is on it's way!!
A giant Giant is on it's way!!!
And Imperial Assault and this forum made damn sure, that Sci-Fi Terrain is coming soon...
