I'm thinking about building a wizards tower type structure for a new game called Frostgrave ( nstarmagazine.com/FROSTGRAVE.htm and thegaragegamers.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/frostgrave-fantasy-wargames-in-frozen_25.html ). I know some of you have built similar structures but I'm having trouble finding WiPs or finished pictures here on the forum. I figured everyone needs a good 3d wizards tower so I started this thread as a community idea/inspiration dump for the topic. Any techniques or pictures you have to share would be great. I'll start off with a few. This is what I'm thinking of doing my build off of Inspiration A cool WiP I found on Facebook

Check out my previous post on making towers: link. I've done some additional work on these, adding bases. I'll try to post some updated photo's this weekend. Cheers!

Terrain Wench did a youtube video on fantasy roofs (on mage towers). Her tower looks amazing:

The brickwork came out really well on the peanut can tower.

Howdy, peanut can wrapped in thin foam. I love the fact that you can still dispense snacks from inside! EXALT BUTTON!!!, Kev!

Alright, I ve started in on my build. I decided to go with a ruined tower build. I'mprobably going to place the top half on the ground next to the standing lower half. I glued foam board to the foam block for carving. Here is where I am so far. Carving the stone work Placed craft sticks for the edges Cut the top half Carved out the center to fill with debris later Based in black craft paint Filled the top with sand (for better debris) Went back with watered down black (to fill spaces) Painted sand with same watered paint And that is where I am now. I'm waiting to see if I can get some grey paint for the stone, if not I will go forward with my current stone set ( The scheme I used on the Dragons Don't Share piece.)

I've done some more work and will post pics later. I'm not terribly happy with the way it's turning out. I'll finish the project but thing this will be more of a dress rehearsal than an actual gaming piece. I might have to spring for some hirst arts stuff to get the look I want.
