And as proven by my photo posts, my cam is mediocre at best. I'm running an htc desire 510 (really wish I had spent the money for a better phone....)

A TRUE HD Camera on average could easily have a cardboard mount and I would prefer that or a thin MDF, over metal for easy modification. I will agree that you would have to change the design to a tripod like system to support the larger cameras, But never say that you cant make it cardboard has limitless potential and should never be underestimated, ALL HAIL CARDBOARD!!! how the hell are you gonna screw the cardboard to the cam to make it stick ? i wonder how you would make the cam look downward with cardboard and nothing to support such an unbalanced cam once the lid is open. here my cam... support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?archive=true&pathId=171&modelId=MODL029202my problem isn't that its too heavy, never have. cardboard support it easily... the problem is the lid must be open for it to film otherwise it turns off.and once the lid is open... the thing becomes totally unbalanced. thats why i have been sticking to tripods because it can be screwed to it and it will stay as is. but back to the matter at end, your phone has such an amazing camera man. my galaxy alpha has a great camera too, but its nowhere near that quality. With the screen that camera has I would make a enclosure with a opening here is a rough drawing, but if you already have tripods my argument is mute. The main thing is to go with what you find easiest. Wyloch's is cool and hand made which I love, Tripods and frames are premade but come ready straight out the box.

yeah but what i like the most is to be able to move at any angle which my tripods do. hard to do that with cardstock. that plan looks cool, as i said, i never said it couldn't be done... just said buying tripods costs next to nothing and will hold for years on end. proof, my bigger tripod costed me 200 dollars back then... but i have been having it since the 80ies. actually this was my fathers tripod which costed him 200 back then. it was for a camera that was like 50 times bigger then what i have now.
that camera software may make one of my camera just that much better. if it can unlock hidden features like those. then i will definitely try it. also if you have blurry or frosted like images from your camera, tell yourself that it could simply be your protective lens that is actually finished... noticed that my ace x2 phone was blurry mostly because of the protective lens which is very scratched.

Wyloch, this is one of my favourite videos in your series, for two reasons: First, the end result is simply beautiful! But much more important: You took an estalished way of making things ('dungeon tiles are painted by starting with black basepaint'!), flipped it around and came up with something new and cool. That's the essence of crafting to me: Get inspired by others and play around it. When you showed the white basepainted tiles, I wondered how they would look if you gave them a very light blue and green wash, plus some icicles... Winter is coming, after all! Also, if you go a little brighter with your brown color scheme, you might have a cool sand theme for desert caves...

You could probably improve it slightly with a bit of gloss over the pools

tauster, you didn't know about the base paint actually having a use ? thats the first thing i got info on.
black or very dark colors = colors darkens as they dry. grey = colors darkens a bit but not as much as black does. white or light colors = colors will actually lighten up
basically... its all about how much shadows you want. with white you usually have to do the shadows yourself. hence why the washes makes much more senses on white. the base determine your color pattern all together. this is also why artists paints on white canvas, because they wanna do everything including the shadows and they usually want their piece to be colorfull. my mother said she'd never paint on a black canvas... it makes it a hell on colors for her.

Dark is actually rather good for certain things, if you're using metallics as the major paints for it, black or a very dark gray is far better than white as lighter colors distort the colors while the black tends to be more distinct there.

For terrain I generally go with a Black base-coat unless I'm painting fire or energy.
For minis, I use a black base-coat unless I'm doing up an angel or a paladin (or something else obviously good), ghosts, or fire/energy beings.
Helped a friend paint up some angels vs demons statues for a chess set he made his dad... I remember we based white and black their actual colors, and IIRC finalized the black pieces with a wash of Gore Red and the Angels with a wash of Gold. But that was 17 years ago, I'm probably not remembering the details right.

Awesome, I really like what you did the cavern tiles. I have laid off the crafting since the first batch of dungeons tiles I did so I could focus on house stuff but it looks like it might be time for another batch of tiles. Great job.
