Hey everyone! I showed you my terrain trees I made in my 2.5D Next Thread and some of you wanted to know how I made them. So I took some pictures while I made another tree and now present you my tutorial! Materials used:- 1 toilet paper roll - Ikea FEJKA artificial potted plant- cardboard - hotglue gun - acrylic paint - optional: flocking Step 1: First I cut the toiletpaper roll open. Then I rolled it into a cone and glued it together with the hot glue. Step 2: I used a piece of thick cardboard and cut out a random shape for my base. Then I cut off the wider end of the cone so that I was able to glue the cone aka. trunk to the base. With the hotglue I added some texture to the trunk and some roots to the base. I also covered the corrugation on the side of the base. Step 3: Now the Ikea plant comes into the game. For one tree I used just one branch that I cut off with a wire cutter. Then I slid the lower half pieces off the wire. Step 4: Now I took the piece of the branch with the wire on the bottom (the one on the right in the picture above) and stuck it into my trunk and glued it in there with some hotglue Step 5: Before I continued I cut off that little nodular bit at the bottom of the pieces that I had taken off the wire. Then I just took the branches and glued them to the trunk with the hot glue making sure they were somewhat evenly distributed. Step 6: Paint it with some acrylic paint and you're done! To make it look a little bit nicer I added some dark green flocking to the base. And this is how they look in action: I hope I could help or inspire some of you! If there are some questions just feel free to ask!

I like how quickly these could be turned out. Great look and perfect for a time constraint encounter.

the other advantage is that those branches are probably solid enough to actually hold a miniature.

the other advantage is that those branches are probably solid enough to actually hold a miniature. I haven't actually tried that. The branches are rather flimsy but I think it should work. Minis aren't that heavy after all. I definitely have to try it out. Thanks for the idea!
