Looks nice. I've been thinking about getting these. I'm curious to see what you are going to do with them!

i ordered it from the games workshop website for 10.5 euros and since i let it be delivered to a local GW store postage was free.

I think secret weapon has a better version with their sack of skulls...the sack of corpses is also rather good, as are their full skeletons (Though if you want human skeletons, wargames factory's skeletons kit is probably a better idea there, and it might actually even be cheaper than the GW pack of skulls...)

These look great! daveyjones, is that sprue between the skulls that has to be removed or does it somehow belong to the sculpt? I remember a few months ago someone making a mould of a skull pile by pressing one skull repeatedly in the mould material, but I can't find the positing...

daveyjones, is that sprue between the skulls that has to be removed or does it somehow belong to the sculpt? I have two GW resin finecast models that had those things on them too and they most definitely didn't belong to the miniature. I had to remove them all.

It looks like it could be difficult removing them so that no sprue remains. Can't wait to see how the pile looks cleaned.

it's sprue. i cleaned it up and most of it came off fairly easily. the plastic they used here seems much softer then the stuff they make the figures out of.
i will post some pics later in the day.
EDIT: i should note that it is only the large pile that has this issue, the smaller ones were clean except for what held them in the sprue, and that came off easily and fairly cleanly. the individual skulls i kept on parts of the sprue for now, but the flash on top of them rubs off easily and i only used my fingernail on the worst bits.the rest seemed to come off on it's own as i cut the rows out of the surrounding sprue. i think i can clean the tiny bits on the teeth with a toothbrush or something like that.

i tried to clean it up just scraping with a knife. i don't have the files or magnifying equipment to do better but it looks ok to the naked eye at close range, except that that one guy doesn't have any nostrils. there is another pic to get a sense of scale and what it looks like to the naked eye. and one of the smaller piles. you can see all the sprue connections on the bottom, well out of the way of any model details.

Those look great. I would definitely find the post that tauster was talking about before using the last of your skulls. Being able to cast your own pile of skulls keeps you from spending more moolah.
Thanks for sharing with us.
