I saw a video on utube a while back that inspired me to make a couple of these. I am still thinking about how I am going to paint them. I think I am going to leave the sticks that make the supports natural and just paint the top part.

Lots of browns. Think mud like adobe, and I think that would be orky looking. Don't forget to add highlights of grey to the wood. You may want to distress the spiky bits to make them look a bit more crude as well.

Or even break one or two off. Don't forget torches!
(Also, I am probably going to steal this)

I would say browns with maybe a bit of green tossed in at the bottom.

You could also paint the spikes a metallic color, adding some rusty areas!
