hey there, simple question i have been wondering.
from what i could get, the number of dices is because of my post count. but the type of dice seem to change by users and i was wondering, what gave me those blue dices ? why are people having, 4 sides and others 8 sides while others have 12 and 20.
simple question, simple curiosity. thanks for the answer.

Ooh, good question. If a guy who's been here as long as DnDPaladin doesn't know, there's a mystery here.

Post count ranks. Also, different dice for admins and mods, obviously.

The dice are there just for a visual on post count like AJ states, the number of dice and the number of sides on the dice go up the more you post starting with 4-sided die, then 6, then 8 and so on.

ok, thanks for the answer. hadn't noticed that it was going up with my post count. i only noticed the number of dices going up. didn't think that faces would go up as well.

If memory serves:
Dice - Posts 1D4 - 0 1D4 - 50 2D - 100 3D6 - 250 4D8 - 500 5D8 - 800 2D12 - 1000 3D12 - 1500
Not sure what is after that.

He rolled 20's, the picture isn't taken from straight above... The lightfall used implies that the 20's are up.

Looking at thedmg's response reminded me of when I ran my own forum. I had one guy who wanted to out do me, the forum admin/moderator for the most number of posts. I had special post counters set up for everyone but myself, but he kept bugging me about his post count compared to mine. I actually changed my count in the database to over 1 million posts, and when he complained about me being unfair, I came up with a special avatar for him. I post it below for all to view! Needless to say, he didn't find it quite as funny as the rest of the members and I did!

I for one stay on this forum for all the inspiration, advice, and see what other people are putting together. Though this is just a forum I have met and enjoyed all the new friendships I have with all of you. The dice are just for the number of posts and alot of us have alot of posts
