Underground lake barge!

My players will need to escape the dungeon they are in through an ancient portal.  The portal resides on the other side of a large (3 mile) underground lake that is occupied by Giant Octopus.  The Dragon in the dungeon has been working on some much larger nefarious deeds that will tie them into future campaigns.  His Troglodyte minions have been using this portal to ferry some evil magic into this dungeon.  They have a barge that they have used to get across the lake, equipped with a continual light beacon to help them navigate.  The players are in for one crazy final encounter.

Thanks. It should be a great time. I still haven't decided if I want to make 2.5d tiles for the entire Dragon's Lair like I had originally planned. The encounter has changed now and they aren't supposed to fight the "big" dragon so I don't know if it's worth the effort. Might just make some partial tiles and use 2.5 next walls and save the big one for someday down the road when they are level 10 and the big guy finally catches up to them
