Went to a Toys R' Us store, shopping for my grandkids' birthday presents, the other day. Noticed they had many, many different sets of Star Wars figures, about 54mm tall, or 1/32 scale. I am not into Star Wars gaming, but I thought I would share this here, for those folks who might play the D20 RPG.
The sets include 9 figures each, for around $6 per set. That means that each 54mm figure will cost roughly $0.67 each. They had numerous different figures, including various alien races, Imperial Troopers, and droids. As a mini's gamer, I could feel the lust rising within me... I love the Star Wars movies -- saw them when they came out, back in 1977. If I were into the RPG, I would be in heaven! These plastic, injection-molded figures, are actually quite easy to paint to a decent standard: block paint, follow that with either The Dip, or Magic Wash, and a matte clear coat. Cheers!

I've seen these too and been tempted. But I'm still too cheap.

if i had the cash i would buy a bunch of them.
these things are collectable, and ill bet you that when the new movies come out their value is going to increase dramatically.
i made some $400 (converting the guilder we had then) buying the regular toy action figures at discount when toy stores started to get rid of them and shortly after that the prequels came out along with a new toy line and i sold my collection to a shop that sells collectables. some of them i bought for $3 and sold for $15.
btw what is the exact name of the product line? i'd like to see if i can find them here in holland.

its always like that... look at mage knights and hero quest. for games that were easy to get, for games that weren'T worth much. they are now getting the attention they deserved and thats way after their time.

I built fantasy armies using the MK figures. Wish I could still get them in bulk, for cheap. Had a chance, recently, to pick up skeletal cavalry for around $1.57 per figure, for 30+, but couldn't swing the cash for toys at the time. Would be a perfect, pre-painted, large unit of skellies... It doesn't get any better than that. Too bad. Cheers!
