For my first installment, and the first mini's that I have painted in about 10 years, I thought I would go with some reaper bones rats. They turned out ok, the models do not have much texture to them so it was hard to get much definition in the fur. I based them on pennies to give them a little weight and stability. That gives you an idea of how small they are.

They look good. I have one albino-colored one amongst all my others that usually ends up being the meaner, bigger "Momma rat."
One thing I have thought about doing, but haven't actually tried yet, is skimming a layer of modeling paste over pennies to eliminate the stamp before using them as bases.

I thought about doing that too, and I might go back and add some glue and sand over the penny parts.
