Really nice terrain you got there. I see a measuring stick in the background of a couple shots. (or at least it looks like a measuring stick) Is it marked off in inches of centimeters? How big are the tiles?

I'm a wargamer, and a role player. I gotta say, I love stepped hills: practical, won't send your mini's tumbling, look decent, fantastic compromise between practical and aesthetics. Nice work, all around, not just the stepped hills. Thanks for sharing -- looking forward to the tutorials! Cheers!

Thanks guys!! The scenes are set up in 12"X12" squares. Each tile in the "wilderness area" is 6"X6". The city pieces are variation of 3" and 6" rectangles. They represent a full story, but are kept at a low profile for playability.
It makes for a very expansive scene in a small area. I ran this yesterday with 4 players on my coffee table.

Howdy,
Did that d20 get hit with a mad scientists enlargement ray?
Off topic hecklers want to know, Kev!

This is the entire city set, including indoor, outdoor, walls, props, sewers, and corridors. As you can see, it barely takes up any room. Sent from my LG-D415 using proboards

I'll be uploading the tutorials in a weird order, because some pictures are on my old phone. To make the base floor of the indoor set, cut out a sheet of 12"X12" foam core (or cardboard). Paint it black. The metal mesh is a black rubber placemat that I got from Dollartree. Cut out a 12"X12" sheet of it and glue it on. Next, cut out a bunch of card stock 2 5/8" and glue them like the picture below. An alternative would be to cut out printed out pictures of your metal floor. I painted mine, which did lead to come warping. Here it is done. Sent from my LG-D415 using proboards

For the corridors, I simply framed out 1inch pathways with 1/4 inch strips of foamcore. The dimensions of the rectangles are: 4"X3" for the straight pieces 3.5"X3.5" for the corner 4"x3.5" for the T-corner. 4"X4" for the fourway. You could just do them all 4"X4. I prefered how this looked, but they'd all fit just fine as 4" squares. Using the end of a mechanical pencil I draw some minor details. For the floor I just cut out strips of the placemat and glued them down. Black wash and a silver dry brush, and you're basically done. I accidentally left the pieces by a heater, and they warped. It's not too hard to get them to line up better than mine do. Sent from my LG-D415 using proboards

Very nice! Really like the grass and terrain effects. Are steel interiors an order of magnitude more difficult than stone interiors, as far as painting is considered? Any other challenges to do sci-fi interiors that you have encountered?

The biggest difficulty is probably that things need to look much more precise when doing metal interior rather than stone. But I wouldn't call orders of magnitudes more difficult.

By the way, what came across as grass? I don't think I meant for anything to look like grass.

Awesome! Sci-fi is tricky, but it's a lot of fun. Guns are a bugger to deal with, but it's been a good time.

The first couple of pictures look like an outdoor, grassy area (to me). Apologies if I misinterpreted the terrain - It may be the color settings on my monitor.
