A way to make hands grasping a figure with no artistic skills you could use mini hair clips like these

there, got the pics to work. Okay, I'll bite. How did you make that? It looks awesome! I cheated....... I have the 24 inch darth vader, took apart his hand, made a mold, and cast it. Then sanding, and paint, so on. Conveinently enough, the hand came out with a couple of screws, and went back no problem.

Nothing wrong with cheating in this game. A nice bit of ingenuity there. Great work.

Great crafting as always, Noc. I did something similar, but I used cardboard cut in the shape of the hand for the base and gradually added the hotglue... It saved me some hotglue stick since I made a large piece.

If I were to make one of these, I would use some sort of armature just to save on Hot Glue. Brilliantly done, both of you. The only way to improve upon a design, is for there to be a design to improve upon! Without your initial work, noctuary, the rest of us would be oblivious to the possibility, and we would have nothing to improve upon... Cheers!

Thanks slag! Shinobi did an excellent job on his as well. That's why I love this community, someone has an awesome idea then everyone else gives their take on it. Just ends up with us passing each other techniques and inspiration. I'd still be using markers on a grid map if it wasn't for Scotty and you guys honestly.

I have been trying to figure out a way to craft an idea for the spell Bigsby's Icy Grasp. I can't seem to figure out a way to make a grasping hand that will hold a character piece. Would your creative mind have any idea how to do this? The only thing i could think of was maybe creating something out of a paper towel cardboard but i'm in no way artistic. I can't seem to figure out how to make the hand or to make it grasp and hold on to the piece during the duration of the spell. Any idea's and video's that you could come up with would be greatly appreciated. Did you make something you could use? I have another idea. This is a jello cup and a medicine dose cup. imageshack.com/i/ipbLPEGdjI cut the jello cup in this shape. imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/840x628q90/673/5qNPJC.jpgThen hot glued the dose cup to the jello cup, then made hot glue lines down the 'fingers' and onto the dose cup, then pushed down the dimple in the bottom of the jello cup, that pulled the fingers closer together. It will also fit down over a mini. imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/840x628q90/905/qG1jMN.jpgI figure the more ideas, the better. Good luck.

A way to make hands grasping a figure with no artistic skills you could use mini hair clips like these I really liked this idea too. Some of these have big teeth on them and would work well as a giant hand. And I think the back tabs could be extended with craft sticks. I will have to keep an eye out for some the right size.

i started using armatures, and im not gonna come back to hot glue without armatures. it saves on hot glue and makes things to hold onto when directing the hotglue where you want it.

I picked up this zombie hand at The Dollar Tree a couple of months ago. I wasn't quite sure what I was gonna do with it, but you could definitely make it work. Pretty sure they still had them at mine when I was there last week.

Since Halloween is coming ...maybe a skeletal hand? Must be easy to find one of a decent size this time of year.
