I just stumbled onto a pile of Heroclick still minis at a Half Price Books bookstore for 50 cents each. Scale is off on most of them but I was able to cherry pick some items to repaint. Just started watching for this kind of stuff since finding this site...

Sounds like a nice find. Lots of those Heroclix figures make great game pieces.

I agree, heroclix has some great minis! Neither I nor my players are scale nazis, so If a minis is cool and not too much out of scale with the other minis, we don't care from which brand it comes. Heck, some of our favourite minis are even unpainted (none of us are mini painters, so far) and still used because of some other cool thing (a comic look, dynamic posture, etc)

Yeah... my wife even thought it was a good deal. So since she was still shopping I reraided the Heroclix pile... amazing what I missed the first time.

There is one of the hulk that will be an awesome barbarian. ... he's holding an ax in one hand and a sword in the other. Also found a wolverine... I really cant wait to set that one on the table when I get ticked off at the players. : )

I LOVE HeroClix. I'm too cheap to pay much for mini's. Many HeroClix are fine as they are. Some just need a little paint. Others need a snip here and there. I enjoy repurposing them. I did a whole batch of Drow by simply painting the skin black. Many of those dramatic over the top heroic poses work well for Drow Priestesses or Wizards. I have that barbarian Hulk mini too. I'm going to make him an orc just as it is.

Now I want to do a Kid Hitler comic (surely someone already does, though).
"Adolf, for the last time, your drow does NOT have blond hair and blue eyes!"

Also how cares if it is not exactly what the setting calls for as long as it looks cool. Most of what I run is modern or sci fi and way harder to find those types of minis than fantasy ones.
