Can't wait for some sci-fi, even if you just released the floor and walls

Well, the votes are favouring the caves next (which is kinda where I was leaning myself, as I'm planning an AiME game - and will need a few goblin tunnels and troll holes) ...but I'll get around to them all eventually.

Any idea when we can expect more video goodness? Cheers!

I'm gonna try and get another 'tips & tricks' video filmed this week if I can (using the latest wooden textures), then I'll add a quick one for the 'alternative floors' pictured on the previous page, before moving onto some caves. I doubt I'll get all that done in one month ...but I'll do my best

No worries. Just being greedy ( ) for more superb content from you. Even though I likely won't use the caverns, I am very much looking forward to seeing them -- it's a great system, from what I have seen thus far! Cheers!

It's took a little longer than expected (as a lot of my time has been taken up with painting mini's and making regular terrain), but I've just uploaded the next 'tips' video:

Here is my first, crude, attempt to make a pillar, using an empty pill bottle: I printed on a color laser printer, onto full-sheet labels. I cut out the smaller pillar image, and then I did the peel-n-stick method, attaching it to the plastic pill bottle. The label was shorter than the bottle, so I used a heavy-duty, utility scissors to cut the bottle down to size [ EDIT: a band saw, jig saw, or table saw, would be better for cutting these down to size -- will be using a band/table saw in the future, for cleaner, more precise, cuts...]. For the top (bottom of the bottle), I traced a circle onto your floor texture sheet (full-sheet label), which made it over-sized. I stuck that to the bottle's bottom (top of the pillar), with overhang all the way around. I then trimmed this with a scissors. Any gaps in the label paper will be hidden using a permanent marker on the inside of the bottle's bottom, darkening it, so the orange plastic won't show through. I will mount it to a square of MDF, covered with your floor texture, using the same label paper sticker, using your video technique, wrapping it around the edges of the base material. The bottle will be glued to the base, which should hide the rough edges of it, enough for gaming at arm's length. I acquire several empty pill bottles each month, so making these short towers won't be an issue. I will post more images, as I finish the next few steps. Thank you, kris . Cheers!

That works really well Looks like they could also double as tall columns with statues atop them (or trimmed down even further to make little plinths). Great stuff!

I eye-balled for fit, some Human milk bottles from my daughter-in-law, this morning (she nursed my youngest grandson until recently, using the bottles only once -- they're throw-away's; relax, and forget their original purpose -- this is crafting at its best, up-cycling!). After they are cleaned, they have near-perfect shapes for columns for mini's. For these, I will need to sponge-paint the bases, as they are rounded, like historical Greek and Roman columns, and fitting paper, even crumpled as you did, kris , would be difficult. I plan to paint them with a wet sponge, using 3-4 colors, wet blended together, as DM Scotty has demonstrated. Once the paint is dry, I will apply the column textured labels, just above the curved base of the bottles. I will need to trim the bottles to the size of the labels, but they should turn out pretty good. I glued these bottles to MDF bases long before your videos, kris , otherwise I would use your basing texture technique on the MDF bases, paint the bases of the 'columns', then glue them to the MDF base. I hope to work on the first one of these, tonight. I will post a photo once I get it done. I plan to make more of the pill bottle columns, but that will have to wait until my next refill, as I normally pitch the empties into the garbage. I love your ideas for using them as plinths, and to have creatures rest on top of them... I can use that idea. Cheers!

Now that I've got a couple of 'wilderness' videos done, I'll be returning to the dungeon again next month ...so here's a sneak peek at some of the things I've been working on: Some of these pieces are a little more tricky than my usual stuff - but I think the end result warrants that extra effort (as I'm really pleased with how most of these have turned out ). So yeah, it's gonna be a busy month

Very impressive, kris , very impressive, indeed. Love the cloth drapings and decorations on the table and altar. The candles, bottles, books, and scrolls, are well done. You just reminded me of a technique espoused by a fellow teaching how to make fantasy maps: draw your artwork large, then reduce it, and your errors, by making reduced photocopies. This might work digitally, as well: create your artwork, save it as an image file, then reduce the image file. Line thickness can be an issue sometimes, but I may need to experiment with this -- assuming you didn't, to create these marvelous items... Cheers!

You just reminded me of a technique... Most of the stuff you see here is drawn (in photoshop) full size @ 300dpi - so it does look rather large on the screen (so I guess it's a similar effect ...if that makes sense).

thanks so much for sharing, like i told you maaaany times i am learning a lot with you cheers!

The tables are absolutely fantastic. Thanks However, the downside of designing all this 'dungeon' stuff means that I've not been left with any time for painting mini's ...and I've got a worryingly large pile (to add to the existing unpainted pile) arriving in February (courtesy of the last Reaper KS).
