Hey people, heres my first time trying such a thing with channel. i have started with the basics of what i do when i wanna DM or create a campaign. so here it is, using photosop, how to create a world map. pretty basic, the video was already long and thats just the start so i am making parts. Hope you like it, cant wait to see or hear your comments, good or bad. i actually preffer bad comments, though good ones boost the morale, the bad ones are the ones that pushes me forward into making progress. not saying i want hate mail though, constructive comments appreciated.
so again hope you like it.
heres part 1.

First off, I absolutely LOVE the music Overall, not a bad video at all. You did a good job explaining WHY you were doing things, which is very important for the audience. The only real criticism I have is that humming sound in the background. It was really distracting in the beginning, but less so later as my ears got used to it. Great job.

thanks guys, yeah i'll try to keep going. if anything i'll try to at least finish this map tutorial. thats my first goal. gonna start small right ?
as for the sound, yeah i really need to buy a new mic, this one has to be amplified to work right, hence why you hear buzz sounds.
PS: the big thing that started at the beginning is my dehumidation device that decided it was time to start right after i started recording. have to remember to turn that thing off when i do record stuff.
i'm thinking of using a music int he background as well. but im not sure, it might make it distracting.

well i passed the last summer doing videos with a friend and we dont intend to stop on them, so i learned a lot already.
when it comes to audio, i do think its what sells the good more then visuals... but thing is, i hate voice overs. did this once with some FNMs from magic the gathering and i found that it actually lose a lot of the oomph that you have when you actually worked on the thing. in some of our series, we also wrked on voice overs, and boy did that actually sucked badly. most of the time the actual live stuff was just better !
but all that said, i dont have a neck tie microphone. which is something im going to get when i get the chance. for now, my microphone is way better then my camera if you ask me. but my microphone records at lower volumes. and thus i have to amplify it. then once i amplified it, i need to remove noise. but doing that changes my voice a bit and i dont like that. still toying with vegas, and i only recently found the normalise option. so give me time. for the audio, it will come to me at a point.

AJ: Thanks thats very true.
rousseau: no need to apologize, i never considered your earlier comment as bashing nor was it taken at face value. i was merely saying that i agreed with you on the audio being the one selling the stuff up. unfortunately im not equipped right now with the right stuff to do real thing with it. so i do with what i have. that said you are right, i should use the one microphone, may it be camera or table microphone and stick to that in order to sync up later. so there is no need to apologiza for anything. your comment was fine and i also appreciate the in depth detail of your last comment. though i think it was unnecessary as i had understand well your point int he first post. i also demanded for criticism. because thats what push forward.
right now, audio wise im trying to have... - equal volume at all times. - no hissing and noise.
out of the two.. i found the normalise option in vegas that helps on volume equality. hissing and noise is where i have problem with. but since i think audacity is a great audio software in itself. i think i wont have a problem trying to mess around with audio.
nonetheless, thanks for all these inputs, i really appreciate them all.
and with all that, part 2 is already done... not gonna delay it more... it was over 15 miutes and i couldn'T verify my channel. so i had to cut about 5 minutes worth of video. but here it comes... second part of it. enjoy !

Thanks for the tips.
i couldn't verify my channel cause my number was used for 2 other friends channels. and we're limited to 2 times verification per year.
i'll try that fake text phone line. we'll see how it goes for that... i definitely want it to be verified. even if for just the custom thumbnails.
the 15 minute limit is actually a boon to me. it forces me to lower my speaking times.
thanks for the filters, yeah i didn't think of th eblur filter. im too used to using the tool sidebar.
im not really liking the ocean clouds and all. because it kinda forces you into following the ocean to create your map. at least to me it does. but i do like the depth it gives.

If you like that effect, put it on it's own layer, mask out the whole thing, then with a soft brush paint it into the areas where you want it (the deep parts).
