We already had a decent thread going for a similar topic, see if you can find it and you should be able to stumble upon a decent list to add to this one.

Almost seems like you'd need 2 sections for each environment, to make using the list easier:
Dungeon (objects) Barrels Doors Braziers etc
Dungeon (terrain features) Stairs Pits Rooms with traps etc
The stuff in the objects list could be placed on any tile, where the terrain features might require a specifically built custom tile to incorporate the feature.
The list could grow huge either way.

Before I get to crazy with this, what do people think would be more useful for YouTube Videos? A link to the post here on the forum containing the video, or a direct link to YouTube?

I meant links to the videos on youtube or the thread they are in. I'm going with linking to threads because sometimes there are multiple parts, so I think it will be simpler.

Link to threads.
this is a nice thread to look for when you get crafters block !
should have a section called "furnitures"
because most of the stuff we can add there can be used in all of the places.
barrels aren't set to dungeons, they can be used everywhere. same with chests and doors.
so basically...
Dungeons / Caverns / Wilderness / Cities would be categories that involved things that set the scenery
while Furnitures would be the category that gives the small détails like tables, chairs, barrels and chests.

What kinds of things do people use for the "background"? Do you just set up everything on your dinner table? Do you use colored felt or something? Are there any cool "hacks"?

New to the boards and starting out , What dimensions should these items usually be if we're listing them all out, I am also wondering what sizes/lengths should I have for a set of walls and how many of each for a decent dungeon.

Been away from a computer for nearly a month so this is a belated response. This is info that was either provided in the originator's posts or that I got by counting what was in the vids. I summarized it for my use, so I am just going to give the lists, without looking for the links that I would ordinarily include.
For 2.5D NEXT, which is just walls and accessories, not tiles. Wall count from DM Scotty's video: 1x1: 3 or 4 2-square long: 8 or 9 3-square long: 10 to 12 6-square long: about 20 12-square long: about 3 You'll want some doors and other accessories, too, and the cave wall segments if you are doing caves.
DnDPaladin suggested: basics for me are these... - dungeon set... --- Walls (12 inch, 6 inch, 3 inch, 1 inch) about 4-6 of them all --- stalagmites (about 6-10) --- Rocks (same as stalagmites) --- Rough terrain (4-6 as well) - Wilderness set... --- Trees (8-10 different sizes.) --- Roads (alternatives but i can see it as necessary) --- Bushes (about 6-10) --- Rough terrain same as dungeon set but with natural stuff instead. - Other Stuff --- Doors (wooden, stones, secrets, portcullis) about 4 each should be enough --- Light sources (braziers, torches on stands) again 4 of each.
My tile count seems to be elsewhere - I'll look for it. What to use for bases if you aren't using tiles: large piece of felt, large piece of vinyl "fabric", painted foam mats [see DM Scotty's 2.5D Next videos], mat made by painting heavy canvas [see Jennifer's posts on this forum], fabric mottled green or brown or sandy from quilting cotton section of JoAnns [just cut it to the size you want - you don't have to hem it if you don't have a sewing machine], or the most elaborate war-game terrain bases you can come up with!
I wouldn't just set up on a bare dining table unless you and your housemates don't care what the table surface ends up looking like.
TheDMG's suggestions on tiles: corner, 2x2: 6 2-sided hallway, 2x2: 4 1-sided , 2x2: 10 field, 2x2: 3 [these are tiles with no walls at all] corner, 4x4: 2 1-sided, 4x2: 2 1-sided 6x2: 2 1-sided, 8x2: 1 2-sided, 4x2: 5 2-sided, 6x2: 6 2-sided, 8x2: 2 2-sided, 10x2: 1 corner with hall, two 2x2 halls: 7 T-junction, four 2x2 units: 2 intersection, 4-way, five 2x2 units: 1 room, right-hand door, 4x4: 3 room, left-hand door, 4x4: 3 room, 6x4 4: 1 each of lower left, lower right, upper left, upper right doors [NOTE: if you use over-the wall doors, you don't need to vary where the door is] room, 6x6, center door: 1 room 6x6, lower right door: 1 room, 8x6, door in each short side: 1 room, 8x8, 2 doors offset in opposite walls: 1
