Hi everybody, i know im not too new anymore. but i figured i would create this to talk about who i am and why i joined. though the later is pretty obvious at this point.
first i'm gonna explain my name...
DnDPally is the name.
i think its quite obvious, but here goes. as far back as i remember, the paladin always was my preffered class of them all. even before in 2.0 when it was a prestige class and you had to be a fighter level 10 to gain the first level of paladin. i dont know why im so attracted to that class. maybe it has to do with the fact that i think its the most versatile class and the most group worthy class. but the fact is, i just like being a shiny knight that saves damsel in distress ! sometimes i play him too good for his own good. and sometimes i play him quite brute strenght and arogant too much. it all depends on stats.
More about me...
Well i been playing dungeons and dragons since i was about 9 year old, now 33 about to be 34 and still rocking the DND vibes !
it started with my friends who were quite board game fanatics and their mother was buying tons of them. she bought a box called dungeons and dragons. there was just a few pieces of papers and a book and she had to work a quest by the book that was in the box. yes this was dungeon and dragons classic edition. back in the time where half a sheet of paper was enough to make a character. never stopped playing ever since. at least i never wanted to stop and was forced to when i couldn'T find anymore people to play with.
then came high school, at that point 2.0 was already out and i started playing this again. advanced 2nd was what i was playing. and the word barely does any justice. i was gone from half a sheet to 4 pages of characters. gone from 30 minute creation to 3 hours. but once that was done... i was ready to play. only to die right away by rogue in need of my newly bought gears... and the DM telling me to fuck off ! worse DM i ever met. then it was finally my turn. i had all the players but nobody to DM them, so i decided i'd try my luck at it. never regretted it. i had my fair share of good going and bad downfalls. going from DM to player a lot going by the groups.
in 2002 i found a group of players and they were playing the new thing. from that point on i learned that TSR wasn't anymore. hence why i had trouble finding back books. but 3.0 was out and it was much better then Adv. 2nd. again played paladin, to my joy it was a starting class now. easier to make the char. at that point i was much more into role playing and started playing as my charcater lots more. people would ask me my life total. and i would ask them whats a lfe total ? some would think i'd go too far but those were just unhappy cause i was gaining bonus XP for being in character. eventually that game fell down because some players had trouble playing their allignment and the good versus bad in the game fell off awkwardly because the neutral didn't knew how to play it.
again stopped playing, for lack of people to play with...
about a 7 months ago, i finally found another group who accepted me as a player. again paladin right away. but we were playing 3.5... my book wasn'T up to date and i had to start back. game was going well until the DM had enough of DMing. let's just say he had trouble keeping with quests and campaign. so i decided to take on the mantle yet again. i still am DM of that group. though it changed often lately. keeping players is hard when life gets in the way. but it is here that i started looking for something more and get in depth with DND again.
fast forward 3 months before today. i fell upon TheDMG youtube channel as i was searching for D&D 3d models. look at all the videos and stareted getting things. then once i was done with it. i followed to DMscotty and here i was making crafts here and there. and when i brought that to my gameing table. they were like, oh shit, it just got real ! we had miniatures, but only dices and ropes to make up for battles. and so now im the DM, it costed me 300$ to start my miniature collection of figurines. yes i shouldn't ahve done that on a whim like i did... not with comic con requiring that money. but what can i say... i was a magic the gathering aholic but not as much as i am a D&D aholic !
now things have slowed down for me. i'm still making crafts. still playing D&D with my friends and im still DMing it. i want to play too, so i guess i'll have to enter an NPC that will simply follow the group and play along while the NPC levels like them. its not the same thing playing and DMing, but i never understood how people couldn'T do both at the same time. i have no problem doing that and i guess thats what makes me love D&D may i be a player or a DM it doesn't matter to me. i'm still playing my favorite of all time game !
now for those who already know me a bit... i'm a blunt man and the type of guy who thinks we shouldn'T go by the next country to go back to our neighbor. i say things straight. i say whats on my mind and unlike most people on the net, i dont hide who i am. so if you think im blunt and you dont like it... sorry thats who i am and it wont change. but tell yourself that being a security agent for the last 4 years have tought me how to be a bit more polite in my brute ways. I also got banned from this place about a month ago and only 2 days back here. so to all those who felt offended by me back then, i say im sorry. i should of told all of this before hand. no hard feeling really. im also the kind that forgets its anger like 5 minutes later. unless you really really get on my nerves. which is hard to do to begin with.
so again, sorry for the wall of text. thats also part of who i am. i tend to write books and novels out of my mind when i simply answer a simple question.
so thanks for reading up to this point and remember...
Thy shall taste my blade if ya make one more step !
